Good luck, I hope you are more comfortable with life now. I was talking to someone I worked with years ago and she made the comment that she had to keep in mind that just because she was working on solving one problem it didn’t mean that all her other issues went away. She would get so frustrated at work things or household issues because everything was supposed to get better, and some shit just doesn’t change ever. And while some things actually do get better, some get worse… I guess it’s just a choice of fighting which battles.
Give me a shout.
I’m not expecting my transition to solve all my problems. But it will allow me quit spending so much energy on a rather large one so I have more available for everything else.
Wait, it just occurred to me…
When your transition is done, what will you scratch? Will you need a new zot? 
The scratching was done on a pool table. Nothing gender specific there at all.

I’m holding you to this next time I come to Texas. My bestie lives in Houston now and I also have some peeps in Austin and San Antonio. So while I’m in Dallas, I’ll rent a car and take a trip.
It’ll be on like Donkey Kong.

It is! From what I understand, the owner and his friends do most of the refurbishing. AFAIK, all the games in there are authentic, classic arcade cabinets. I went to a friend’s party at a different nerd “arcade”, but almost all of the cabinets had emulator PCs inside. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it is nice to have the actual correct controls with labels for what they do, instead of blindly guessing.

I wanted to back this project and get some of these but I was flat broke at the time.
I know they’re planning on making an actual storefront for them at some point once the Kickstarter stuff is all over and done with. Maybe you can get some then?

You and me both. I haven’t had an actual stable tabletop game in…years now. It sucks. I’ve been jonesing for one, but all the people I used to play with aren’t around anymore and I’m not one to just go hang out at the game store anymore…bleh.
Most of my group has kids now, which severely curtails their availability for anything, much less something as time intensive as tabletop gaming. One of them doesn’t have kids, but he recently rejected me for being trans in a pretty epic way so fuck him. As for hanging out at the game store, that’s suboptimal. I don’t make friends easily and once my transition is complete I’ll also have to deal with all the neckbeards either trying to hit on me, mansplain, or tell me girls can’t be real gamers.
Sooo much this. I went to the Final Fantasy IX release party at the Metreon way back when, and I went with a friend. There were reporters there, who asked my friend all kinds of questions. Ignored me. When I got to the front of the line, they asked me, “Are you here to play?” before they gave me a swag bag. Then asked again when I walked over to the demo consoles. The third time I was asked, I’m afraid I snapped at them, “I’m not a gamer girlfriend!”
Edit: Oh, and then when I was playing, I got to the first battle, and some guy comes up behind me and says, “You’re doing pretty well!” I’d been playing FF since FF III, so yeah, I know how the combat works, and it’s not hard.
