We all wish for that magic pill that can fix kidneys, eyesight, erectile dysfunction and all matters of other ailments…

1 out of 3 is better than none, innit?🫣

So, a bit of an afterthought post-crisis.

My BP just was going up and up. Got stronger meds.

Doc sent off blood samples for general testing.

Kidney function - good

Blood sugar - good

Prostate - good

Liver - uh huh

Cholesterol - nope, emergency, abort abort abort

Turned out my cholesterol was way high. Whoops.

No wonder I was not feeling 100%.

Anyway.

One silver lining was that I stopped cold turkey drinking fizzy cooldrinks and eating sweets and chocolates about two weeks prior.

Feeling better now, and my BP is actually starting to come down. Nice.

Turned out a high sugar intake messes with your liver, causing a higher cholesterol level.

So there’s that. Hope this info may help others getting their health back before it is too late.

Cutting out sugar have other health benefits as well.

Meh. Modern living sucks big time.

Some good news. BP is now definitely down after going cold turkey and cutting out my sugar consumption.

Still monitoring, but now I do feel hopeful.

Still good, still hovering below 140/90…

Now I can relax a bit.

Update (final) :

In the end the answer was so obvious, but people ignore certain things.

Just have enough fresh fruit for breakfast and chuck the statins and pills. Seriously. YMMV though.

I suspect I may have started to lose weight as well what with stopping sugary stuff.

Does not mean that I’m out of the woods, but it do look promising. Will monitor things for a month or so, then go back to the doctor and update my prescription etc.

I am turning into that Jeff Foxworthy joke about being convinced that because you can’t find one specific item, it means someone broke into your house and stole that specific item and left the rest.

Getting tired earlier in the evening = waking up earlier in the morning.
Waking up earlier in the morning = getting tired earlier in the evening.

I think I’m losing the ability to force myself to stay up later to combat this. I hit a point where I can tell I can’t stay up any longer. Sometimes switching to reading in bed helps. Other times, it’s “Wait. How many times have I read this paragraph?”

If this keeps up, I’m going to be going to sleep right after I get home and wake up around midnight.

It might help to take a short nap when you get home. My body seems to have decided that I turn into a pumpkin around 9PM and wake up around 5-6AM.

Around this time last year, I got myself into a cycle of being in bed before 10 and waking up at 4:30 (no alarm). I squandered the time, I really should have gotten up and out to the gym right when they opened at 5 and get an early jump on the day. But I didn’t want to wake up the rest of the house.

That time has passed now. And due to other recent events, routines have been completely FUBAR for the past 7 weeks.

Naps tend to backfire on me. Yes, they help with sleep I need right then, but when I’m ready to officially end the day and get my night’s sleep, it can be 1, 2 or 3 in the morning.
