Yeah but that one actually worked out really well for everyone. It was transparent what the deal was with minimal if any shady stuff.
HCL definitely has their own way of doing things (source: am an employee of HCL at a client site). Somehow Iām not surprised they think they can make something out of Bloated Goats (which I last supported in 2008). I recently got moved from desktop into inventory management and the weekly call I have with the HCL mothership regarding asset tracking is an exercise in frustration.
I guess I kinda-sorta-accidentally shortened that and it still makes sense.
Weāve had a long simmering argument to basically try and convince the powers that be that thereās certain things we just donāt care about tracking. This is more on the Change Management/ITIL side but we keep stressing that we just arenāt tracking SFP+ modules (We buy $50 ones instead of the $250 ones anyway, so theyāre practically disposable) or even Wireless Access Points.
With the recent flap regarding Exchange and security, Notes may be heading for a revival as it does not have the security shortcomings of Exchange.
Only Time will tell
Oh, so we are, by the longest of definitions, co-workers then!
Iāve had a couple situations like that, mainly because my current gig includes a large placement/contracting firm that a lot of people have worked from in the past. Itās kind of like cheating at 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon by being his dog groomer or something.
