Ah, so dead-pan sarcasm is fine then 😛

I would be happy to do ‘social stuff’ at work if there were common interests. I’m not that into soccer, cricket, or football. I don’t think there’s quite enough gamers at the current office to be worth trying to organize a bi-weekly office RPG night. I feel like this is an impasse.

An awful lot of office social events involve drinking too, so if you have any one of a number of problems with alcohol then you are screwed.

We did a wine and canvas event that was pretty fun, the unfun people poohpoohed it, but after everyone admitted they enjoyed it. Bowling can also be fun, even if everyone sucks. And one of our departments does Chucky Cheese twice a month on Friday for lunch. Ski-ball is a team building exercise.

Surprised they let them in without being attached to a kid. My niece had her birthday there a couple years ago and they gave me the third degree at the front door. I had to tell them whose party I was there for before they would let me in.

I wager it wouldn’t have happened if you were a woman.

Not taking that wager, dak. I was pretty irritated about it. Especially since that place is like the seventh circle of hell if you’re not a kid person. My brother even thought it was silly because he’s not one of those parents who sees a child predator behind every tree and bush.

Friday at 11:30 or so it’s dead, so the time I went it was just us 10 adults. Eating shitty pizza and throwing skiballs and shooting aliens. If they had kept us out then it would have been empty.

Yes, because everyone knows women don’t abuse children. Everyone is also aware of the fact that stranger abuse and abduction is less than 3% of all cases. You have a better chance of your sister abusing your child than a stranger on the street.
