Account added! You’ve got operator privilege and can do server stuff. Please don’t do anything bad, and please don’t change the server game mode. If you want to switch to creative, use the command on yourself rather than globally.
There might also be some Ars folks sharing space, but likely not more than a couple.
Speaking of Ars, I have to say I enjoy all the articles that are posted. Especially the Apple content.

Though if you have the ability to add some things there are some multiplayer tweaks that make life easier. Like single person sleeping.

It’s a zombie spawner but it will do. Tomorrow I’ll build a fishing spot and a chicken farm along with the zombie XP farm.
Found the site for vanilla tweaks for multiplayer servers. Don’t know if you can load datapacks or not.
Some of these like the Multiplayer sleep and anti Enderman griefing are very useful, while the AFK name change is just handy. The more mob heads is just fun.

I’ve been so into heavy modpacks like Sky Factory and Galacticraft that I don’t know if I can even deal with playing just vanilla Minecraft anymore

1.14 is pulling so much from mod packs. They just added a travelling trader.

I haven’t played MC in years! It takes a while to figure out what is going on. I did, however, beat a skeleton to death with a flower.

Nice. Who made Ft. Kickass? I added a bed, a chest, and a furnace to it. It kind of needs a back wall though, no idea what happened there.
Well, I got the zombie XP grinder done. It’s not pretty yet, but it works.
I also have a nether portal set up, and it’s right on top of a nether fortress. If possible please don’t destroy the blaze spawners, those are worth their weight in gold.

You’re not wrong. It can be fun in a very meditative “not a game” way, in my case. And, yes, I die a lot sometimes.
Last night I made a trip to the south to the ocean and died several times. I kept TPing to my stuff and just dying again, then I ran out of food and just TP’d back home. Left my horse down there so I’ll have to go back at some point.
Assuming that the MineCraft version of PETA don’t sue you into oblivion first?
