# New cryptomalware strain : MegaCortex

At this rate it seems that sooner or later The Big One will arrive and encrypt _._ the whole world over.

Had upped our backup strategy a while ago, and I’m confident of a bare-metal restore, although I’m not looking forward to that day should it happen.

Since my company was acquired my “multi hat” role has been very diversified. I’m no longer the single guy for Ops, backups, SQL, local IT, managing anti-malware, etc, etc.

So I cannot positively state we are ready… but it ain’t my circus any longer, either!

The local city government near my current workplace got hit hard by another malware infection:

On Thursdays I have my class discuss tech articles. I brought that one up after none of the students did.
