European paper has the advantage that each size is half of the previous size, so it’s more consistent.

Going back to the original problem, my experience is that any time an IT person has said, “You have to change the NIC on the printer because it’s not getting the IP it should”, it has almost always been a network issue. It can be anywhere in the DNS server, the DHCP server, how they set up a MAC reservation if they use those, a virtual LAN, etc.

The chances of a NIC working correctly for everything except for getting assigned a specific IP address are very small, but that’s the conclusion a lot of IT people immediately jump to: it has to be the end device that’s at fault and it can’t be anything else on the network.

ANSI A/Letter (8.5x11) is half ANSI B/Tabloid/Ledger (11x17), which is half ANSI C/Bond* (17x22)
I don’t know where Legal (8.5x14) size came from ; left field somewhere?

Apparently, ISO A-Series is based on not-quite-halfsies, with a stray odd millimeter thrown in here and there…

Architectural has an extra border over ANSI, but it has half/double sized, too. Fun!

*Bond weight is how US Letter paper is weighed. A 500 sheet ream of 20lb letter weighs 5 pounds - a quarter of 500 sheets of 20lb Bond paper, because Letter size is 1/4 the size of Bond. :grinning:

Yeah, me and $Wife joke about that occasionally. Netflix and Hulu both claim things are ‘theirs’ because they bought the US rights up. Look it up, and it’s an overseas production that was produced without any help from Netflix.

We see ‘Stones’ referenced on a lot of British-origin shows. Maybe it’s less common for younger people, but it’s still pretty common.

I know of at least two Japanese shows that Netflix claims are “Netflix Originals”.
