Automated Resistor Identification

I’m super psyched about this find.

There are 2 things that are holding me up on my projects. One is space. With the cats and the apartment, there just is no really good place for me to setup shop. And I haven’t built a portable workbench because we always seem to be looking at someplace else to move to and it seemed pointless to built a portable solution when I might have a permanent one.

The other issue is the fact that I’m color blind. For the most part, no big deal. But I’m starting to pull up more and more electronic projects that require soldering in resistors. Yes, I have a multimeter and I know how to test a resistor and know the codes but I can’t recognize them at a glance. I can test each one, but when I’m in the middle of something, it just doesn’t seem reasonable to stop and test one part (not to mention my kits sent me the resistors in one large bag instead of labeled). I started designing something like this, but this guy beat me to the punch. I’ve downloaded the code and I’m just waiting to setup the camera.
