So I’ve been poking around and I’m not quite sure if I’ve uncovered something that’s by-design or not…
If I’m looking in a topic and am scrolled all the way to the bottom, then click on the little menu button up near my avatar picture (that gives the list of the various categories and whatnot) and select Categories to go back to the main Categories view, I get shunted to the bottom of the page, like Chrome is remembering the scrollbar position.
I’m not sure if this is an artifact of how Discourse is designed to do its rendering, or if it’s just Chrome acting funny on my work machine or not…
Just tested this. Behavior is the same on FireFox. Appears to be a scroll-bar memory (I was scrolled down to the bottom of the categories page before moving to another thread to test).
Yeah, and it’s definitely remembering where you were in the thread rather than the list, since I just tested with being at the top of the Categories view, entering a long thread, scrolling 3/4 of the way down, and hitting that option.
