Both Ant Man and Ant Man and Wasp aren’t the best in the series, but they’re worth watching just so you know what’s going on. I could have skipped them, enjoyment-wise, but I don’t feel like I missed anything when they’re mentioned in the rest of the movies.
I liked Ant Man, it felt like a bit of a break after all the oh so serious crap. But then Ragnarok was the real break.
You can PM me and I’ll tell you if you’re right
My daughter fell asleep in the theater around the beginning of the 3rd act.
Endgame was a pretty much perfect culmination to the “current” MCU. It was epic. I managed to stay spoiler-free, didn’t even see the trailers or commercials. I feel like there were one or two callbacks that maybe could have been made but weren’t. A little disappointed in how Captain Marvel was used but I’m figuring that A) they didn’t want to be overly reliant upon a newcomer and B) a lot of people haven’t seen that movie yet.
There were a couple things that felt very reminiscent of Logan, oddly enough.
It will be very interesting to see how things move on from here.
Thanks, I’ll have to think about that one. I want to wait until we buy the blu-ray and hear it for ourselves, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to avoid spoilers for that long.
I enjoyed Endgame and actually full-on cried at a couple of points - although probably not the ones you might think.
I was disappointed, though, with fat, drunk Thor. I know Chris Hemsworth didn’t like serious Thor, but I thought this went too far in the other direction.. I also liked the little callbacks to previous movies and the shoutouts to the fans, like Clint mentioning Budapest, Tony commenting on Cap’s ass, etc..
Yes, there was a lot of fan service in this movie but really, it worked. They found a way to get it worked in without forcing it, and in most cases it helped bring some levity to the scene.
The one callback that was a shot-for-shot remake of a scene from a previous movie nearly had me screaming, it was so good.
@Nabiki and @Lee_Ars, what do you think about having a private thread (like the Literacy one) for people who want to discuss Endgame without risking spoiling it for everyone else? You could call it The Spoiler Room.
I think I know the one you’re talking about, and I agree.
I want in… ![]()
I’ll take a Look at setting something like that up after I get home. I’ll post that adventure in my trip thread.
Dork Tower has some words of wisdom for Endgame and Game of Thrones, which is reaching its own endgame: “What do we say to the god of spoilers?”
Hehe - would probably be good for any spoiler-ish discussions.
hehehe
The Spoiler Room has been created. I have added a few people to the group, just let me, DocDubious or Lee know if you want in.
I want in.
Done. I still have magic powers, too.
Woohoo! Thanks, @Nabiki.
In case anyone missed it, Disney re-hired James Gunn to direct the next Guardians of the Galaxy movie. It will be after he gets done making Suicide Squad 2 for DC.
Nice to see a company reverse course in a way that makes sense and shows that they can learn and not just do panic reactions that lead to #MeTooFar.
