Cuba and the USSR and China aren’t on the same level of power. You want to go piss off China, go ahead. And it’s not even like we are unleashing the full power of democracy and capitalism on Cuba, we’re just opening things up enough that the people on top can stay there, for no good reason.

If I remember correctly, we’re the only ones who had sanctions against them in the first place. We’ve been asked many times to release the sanctions.

And I can’t think of any country that we have similar sanctions against. Americans got to Korea all the time, but we weren’t allowed to go to Cuba without permission from the government.

I seem to recall even Republicans had asked Nixon and Carter to ease up on the sanctions.

I would support a full court press normalization. Treat them like every other country and make it their problem to keep freedom out.

Reading headlines today about the girl that punched someone and got pepper sprayed.

“Trump Protestor Groped and Then Pepper Sprayed by Supporter”

When if you watch the video, she’s in the middle of screaming in tongues, punches some dude off camera, who immediately pepper sprays her. Would it have been better if he slugged her back? She’s claiming someone groped her, but really, it’s a crowd where everyone is nut to butt, is someone on the other side of a near violent confrontation going to take the chance to grab a breast? She walks away, says “I deserved that” and poses for a picture before looking for help with the pepper spray.

I would assume she was a volunteer arrestable except I thought they made sure those were over 18.

Once again though, some people get the “What did they expect” treatment while others get the why did they pepper spray that poor girl who was just randomly punching people?

If Trump supporters were really so violent, then they’ve already been shown how to shut down campaign stops, why don’t they do it? Hell, supposedly they are all xenophobic gun nuts, you’d think it would be impossible to get to a Sanders rally.

I would’ve have tried knocking her teeth out since I don’t carry pepper spray. I’d feel bad about it afterwards, but defending myself would’ve been a reflex on my part.

EDIT: She’s actually 19. I’m not sure why the media outlets saying she was 15 haven’t corrected that by now. But then again, some of these same outlets still seem to think that the spraying was unprovoked.

One of these days one of these semi pro instigators will fuck with the wrong person and get curb stomped on video. Some people seem to think that they can do whatever they want as long as they are on the side of right. Lay hands like that on someone not quote screwed on right, or someone who’s had some prison time, or someone who takes their self defense seriously, and she’d be on the ground bleeding before she knew what happened.

Now, If I was stupid enough to be there, I likely would have just laughed at her.

I saw an article that stated that she was 15 at the beginning and 19 at the end.

I wouldn’t have been anywhere near that rally myself. I’d go out of my way to avoid it. Imagine an unhinged person with conceal carry in the vicinity.

Imagine being assaulted, a bit more than just that girl’s one punch, while concealed carrying and not being an unhinged individual. Now that I have my card things like this are things I’d avoid, and I’m not even carrying. If I were to attend an event like this, I’d A) stay on the fringe, and B) carry so deep I could get half naked and not be detected.
