Something my daughter and I have run into both in our shared server and on our solo games is you can get stuck in a death cycle.
You have all this crap on you and you die, and maybe you have dinos with you that are in danger of dying. So you random spawn and start running naked from who knows where to who knows where. And of course you get ambushed by a raptor and instakilled. Or you run out of stamina and get eaten by a piranha while trying to cross a creek. And then you are even more desparate, and one of your dinos died, so you try even harder, and just keep dying and dying. Until you slow down, maybe prep at least a pick axe and grab some berries, figure out where you really are and go in slow, and die anywayā¦
Meanwhile, 75% of the time you could have gotten most of it back in 15 minutes and then went and collected your crap calmly. The other 25% itās just not worth it.
This also applies if you have a bed because it has a cooldown on it. So the first time you run off and then get even more frustrated when you have to randomly spawn the second time.
Make 3 or 4 beds
Also, have a small supply of survival gear inside a container in the hut you have your beds. Replenish as needed.
You also need to get used to the fact that your dinos will die. I got my level 50 Spino killed because I got into a fight with 2 alpha raptors . He could handle 1 at a time easily enough, but I didnāt realise there were actually 2 of them. My level 65 Rex canāt handle 2 at a time.
Took a break from Witcher 3 and have been playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Have to say, the game is faithful to the overall feel of its origin and Iām loving it despite doing the supposedly more boring all-stealth method.
Probably not a good idea to play it after experiencing the graphical beauty of Witcher 3, though; The game looks pretty fugly in comparison. In its defense, it is a pretty old game.
Iāve been watching gameplay videos of something that is in early access stage called Satisfactory. Itās available on Epic Games for $30. Iād need to spend a thousand dollars on a computer fast enough to play it, first.
Well, that was a wasted weekend. I didnāt even get to PLAY the game. I just watched someone else play it.
Iāve been playing Satisfactory. If you ever played Factorio, itās kinda like that in a first-person exploratory kinda way. You land on a section of a planet and begin strip-mining the shit out of it to build machines to build more stuff to eventually get to a goal that I donāt think is in the Early Access version yet. Theyāve only got the first 6 tiers of progression in right now, but it works pretty damn well.
I picked up Nier Automata againā¦ god i love the way the game looks, plays, and the story it tells. Just wow. Yoko Taro is a strange man, but dang he makes good games.
Started playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Man, itās true what they said when this one was made with a brand new engine because it looks amazing compared to Human Revolution. The CG parts looks more natural as well so theyāre not cringe-inducing. Gameplay is fortunately similar so I was able to get into the game quickly.
I had trouble getting DX:MD working as my hardware is kind of oldā¦ It should run on the Mac Plus, but only if I can get it working on a newer MacOS, and thatād require some work and/or possibly replacing the video card as Apple and NVidia arenāt talking right now.
Anyway, it did seem interesting. The best DX is still the original one, but the modern HR and MD are fun, albeit very different. Iād like to see a better sequel, as Invisible War left me cold and unhappy.
Iād love a proper sequel to the original. While Invisible War was fun, it didnāt feel like Deus Ex at all. Although if CDPR hits a home run with Cyberpunk 2077, itās going to set a high bra for the Deus Ex franchise to beat.
I picked up Star wars the old republic. It is definitely a game. I am not sure how i feel about it. I think i like it.
Im also trying to play through SW: knights of the old republic for the first time. It and jade empire are on IOS so I got both. Nabikiās roommate always sung the praises of jade empire and i figured i should play it.
A coworker got me into Ni no Kuni II and itās quite fun. Havenāt played many games like it so itās a bit of a learning curve for me, but Iām enjoying it. Try to carve out one day per week to just play my games but itās hard. But I keep trying!
Design Home on my android phone. Itās exactly what it sounds like - you design a room in a house and other players vote on it. Iām doing pretty well so far, scoring above 4.0 (out of 5.0) most of the time, which gets me prizes - free furniture items I can use in future rooms. Sounds sort of dumb, I know, but Iām enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.
