Finally playing Elite… no idea what I’m doing and I’m having fun with it.
Might play some octopath traveler or fire emblem three houses tomorrow. Depends on my mood. Although I have a few on my PC i could play too. So many options!
Oh, man. I remember playing that on an Apple ][c back in the day. Wire-frame graphics.
If it’s Elite:Dangerous you’re playing, then there is a CoG squadron (call sign ‘CHRO’) if you’re interested.
I don’t quite know WTF squadrons actually do, but we have one…
They’re basically just the Elite version of a guild or clan. You do get a squadron-specific chat channel, I believe, and you can align the squadron to a superpower and/or a faction to work towards something or other, I believe. There’s also squadron leaderboards for stuff, but who cares about those?
I’m playing Elite:Dangerous, and I already applied for membership.
I’ll try to remember to check the squadron board when I’m next logged in and approve your request…
No guarantee when that will be, though.
@e4tmyl33t - did you get a notification of any sort when I approved your squadron request?
I honestly don’t remember, sorry. I believe you get an in-game “email” saying you were approved but I’m not 100% sure.
Not to worry - I fired the game up, added Woodman to the squadron and then shot up a few pirates.
Nice. I picked up the limited-time Black Friday “Midnight Black” paintjobs for all my current ships plus one I may eventually work towards, so now I can be stealthship!
I picked that one up last time it was on sale. Now my Fer-de-Lance looks like the ship from HitchHIker’s Guide. “It’s so black that light just falls into it…”
I did a potentially dumb and used most of the 132M I had laying around in my Elite credits account and bought a Type-9. I am now learning that while EDDB has an awesome trade route search tool, its pricing data around me is…subpar.
But now I can haul over 540 tons of useless garbage rather than 128!
(Also learned my Thrustmaster T16000M seems to have started developing a problem of stick drift on the twist axis, which is not optimal as it can throw me off of a jump if it drifts too far before I can correct it, and cargo-hauling still attracts crappy NPC interdictors…)
Easiest way to rank up in ‘Trade’ (and get lots of cash) is to take passenger missions. The ‘Smeaton Orbital’ run is long (1.8MLs from the star) but get a few VIPs on board and you can get 10 or 20 million per run.
A well equipped Orca will get you there - the Dolphin is too small, and the Beluga is huge…
And before I forget, what timezone are you guys in? I’m cruising at UTC+11, so catching up to do some work together in a Wing might be a bit tricky.
I’m US Eastern (so usually UTC-5 unless it’s daylight savings which is UTC-4)
Edit: I forgot to add, the one thing I DID make sure I did with said Type-9 was to take it’s 7-slot and shove a fighter bay in it. Now I have an NPC who’ll eat 9% of my profits but will pilot little fighters to protect me should I ever get interdicted by an NPC who ISN’T shit at it.
If you have been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One and are unhappy with the performance, CD Projekt is issuing refunds and Sony has removed it from the PlayStation store. Does removing it from the PlayStation store force it to be uninstalled on consoles? For those looking to get a refund, reports are that it’s not easy to get.
Now it may be easier to get the refund. A couple of days ago, an investor was going to sue CD Projekt for being misled about how many problems the game has. I think that’s now become this class action law suit:
I guess I’ve been lucky. I’m playing on Xbox One and haven’t run into anything game breaking yet. The graphics are dated but it’s playable.
Apparently the developer staff are unhappy as well.
This on Steam, for free until the 10th.
I have added it to my library, but not downloaded it yet. Will take a look a bit later.
Got enough to keep me occupied.
This looks incredible. English and Russian only.
I haven’t played it yet, but that’s my afternoon.
This upcoming open-world sci-fi game from developer Andrey Fomin has a retro vibe inspired by early computer games, like those on the TRS-80. The characters, backgrounds, weapons, and objects are made entirely out of ASCII characters. Play an early demo in your browser here, and sign up for Early Access on Steam.
