Another favorite!
WWII in HD Color. So weird but cool to see the old footage remastered and colorized. On Netflix.
The Netflix one, season 4.
Also started watching Kingdom, same sort of cinematography, but much more active plot.
Umbrella Academy. Weāve only watched the first episode, but I think weāre going to continue - itās at least holding our interest, if not outright wowing us. And itās fun trying to identify all the places in Toronto and the GTA where it was filmed. (Which is also part of the fun of watching The Handmaidās Tale.)
Game of Thrones season 7, so Iām up to speed when season 8 drops.
Just saw an ad that says Rooster Teeth is offering free streaming on a lot of their shows tomorrow. Gen:Lock probably wonāt be included, but thereās other interesting shows there.
Good Omens. Weāve only been waiting for 30 years for this.
I never read the book, but I am enjoying the miniseries. So much that Iām probably going to end up reading the book.
Finally an ad thatās of some use to me. āRipleyās Believe It or Not!ā is coming back on the Travel Channel and Bruce Campbellās the host. If you want to watch the sneak peek, hereās the link without the embedded ad-tracking code.
I decided to watch Simon Peggās sitcom Spaced. Made it through the first episode last night. Started on episode 2 tonight and about 5 minutes in, I hit fast forward on the remote because I was tired of waiting for the show to get past the āwe have to make it look like weāre a coupleā point and the āhereās our strange new neighborsā point.
Even with it zipping by, it still didnāt look like theyād ever get past that point. And even though something happened right at the end that might be the point where the show gets interesting, I gave up. Both discs are going back to Netflix tomorrow.
I like Spaced, but the whole āWeāre a pretend coupleā is kind of the basis for the show, so maybe not what youāre looking for. I did love the paintball episode: I think Big Bang Theory did one a couple seasons ago that had some similar jokes, but was not nearly as on-point about it.
Weāre enjoying Good Omens, too. The most recent episode we watched (3 or 4?) had a long stretch added for the series because (according to Gaiman) otherwise Crowley and Az would have had nothing to do in the episode and itās a fun sequence.
Weāre enjoying Good Omens, too. A favorite book for years.
Started watching the 2016 version of the The Tick on Amazon Prime Video. Was looking for something lighthearted and funny, and considering I watched the animated version often when I was a kid (even played the Sega Genesis game), I thought why not. Fulfilled everything I was looking for and before I knew it, I got through one season already within two days. A shame there are only two seasons so far.
Itās not perfect (cringy CG effects in some spots, odd dialogue in others), but overall I found it very entertaining. I thought it nailed the feel of the animated series well.
I like S1 of The Tick on Amazonā¦ Havenāt watched S2.
The weird thing is how every Tick incarnation is so different from the others, even though the core concept is the same.
S2 builds nicely, in my opinion, on S1. They introduce some neat new characters, add development to some of the existing ones, and do a nice twist with the villain.
Funny thing, I actually watched the first 10 min of Season 2 before I started the series. That was my preview of the whole series, essentially. Iāve watched up to 2nd episode and so far so good.
The Tick is on my āTo Be Watchedā list, but itās also a show $Wife has zero interest in, so I save it for the rare times Iām home alone basically.
Donāt forget about that dance party!
The first rule of Dance Party is that you donāt talk about Dance Party.
I love that they used a pretty rockinā Prodigy song for that sequence.
