Well, I assumed $.99 for each song, and then some album discounts.
I really have no idea how much it’s worth. I know that I couldn’t sell it for more than the hard drive is worth, so in the real world it’s worth nothing.

Not according to the RIAA.
RIAA doesn’t live in the real world.
I believe that artists should make a living from their music, and I believe that everyone in the production chain deserves one too, but I also believe that RIAA and similar organizations are more about killing competition and maintaining monopoly power than making sure things are “fair”.
Same as any other trade organization or large company. Just like Linus’ sister.
I have some great ones for guitar tuning, a snare pattern fundamentals reference, a few other odds and ends musically speaking. I also have some really cool references for amateur radio stuff, e.g. repeater directories, SDR interfaces, etc. And a bunch of games off Humble Bundles that I can’t stay away from.
And none of it does me any good since my Nexus 7 took a swan dive off the roof of the Subaru at 40 mph.
I may be getting myself the same birthday present two years in a row, because I really kind of miss that thing.
Important safety tip:
Never, ever put stuff on the roof of the car - milkshake, soda, or cell phone - put it on the hood.
That way you see it before you drive off.
I knew it was a stupid thing to do even while I was doing it, but I also set my (bright orange) travel mug up there with it, so there was little chance I would miss it.
I set those things down, buckled in Siglet Prime, and then had to run inside the house to grab something or other. I came back out and Sunbeam told me she had grabbed my coffee cup for me. Alas, Sunbeam is 5’ 2"ish; she could not have seen the tablet.
2 minutes later… Ka-bump-bump-crash.
It’s just a thing, but it was a useful kind of thing.
Baby…
I have gone as far as to put the car in gear with an empty baby seat on the roof.
What are you using for the tuner apps Sig? I’m using Ultimate Guitar Tabs & Chords and Ultimate Guitar Tools but they’re not perfect.
DaTuner for tuning; I don’t remember what else I was using. That’s the only one I have on my phone, which is too small and underpowered to do much of anything else with.
As a random aside…
If you work on Ducati motorcycles, one belt-tensioning method is to use a tuning fork and listen to the sound the belt makes when you flick it.
tech.woot.com has reconditioned Nexus 7 16GB and 32GB units on sale today.
And that’s the current generation, not the first gen.
Yoink. Good find, thanks. Birthday present en route. And we sprung for the 32G because the difference was 30 bucks.
And of course that comes up a couple days after I bought my Kindle.
Still happy with what I got, but argh.
Can anyone recommend a good mobile browser? Chrome mobile is lame. There’s no way to sort your bookmarks.
I changed out my flashlight app for Flashlight Free - No permissions. All of the other flashlight apps seem to want to have full network access, and there’s no reason for a flashlight app to be accessing anything other than my camera.
I’ve switched back to the default. It’s quicker for most things. I still run Chrome though not as much. I remember using Dolphin back in the Windows Mobile 6.x days and I’ve heard good things since, but I can’t recommend it as an end user.
So Gratch and I are house hunting. I saw RoomScan the other day but that’s only for iOS and newer iPhones. There probably won’t be an Android version as there’s too much fragmentation of hardware so I went digging for an Android alternative.
I present to you MagicPlan. It’s a little more work but it’s fairly accurate and you can easily rough in a floor plan in no time.
I was thinking of installing Dolphin. I had it on my phone a few years ago, but I wasn’t sure if it was still a good option.
Edit: Chrome is the default browser on the new HTC One…
I’m playing a bit with Isis Mobile Wallet now. They registered me for it at the Verizon store, and it gave me $40, to spend on accessories, so I got an Otter Box case for the phone. I like the idea of simply swiping my phone to pay for things. I’m surprised at how many places take it. I also like the fact that you have to turn the swiping ability on, so I can keep it turned off unless I’m actually using it.
