This concept is terrifying. I live in the future.
But still no flying car.

They can be really handy.
Eww man I just looked in the SD card slot of my Mac and itâs filled with what would be pocket lint if it was in a pocket, but itâs in a computer which means itâs gross for reasons I canât quite describe other than looking at it makes me want to wash my hands.
I think Iâm going to put tape over it like I did with the ethernet, FireWire and Thunderbolt ports. Bleh. BLEH.
Do references to âboard chowâ make you ill?
No not really, because I know thatâs just crumbs. Itâs when you get unexpected fluff in unexpected places that throws me off and makes me feel a bit queasy. Keyboard crumbs are passĂ©, so much so I made this years agoâŠ
Edited: some context for disliking fluff; Iâve fallen through a floor into a crawlspace that was almost entirely filled with sporing/flowering dry rot and oakmould. Fluff is nasty.
So, no belly button play then hunh?
Amazingly enough, despite the impressive bear physique, Iâve never had belly button fluff. Neither has the husby. Itâs some sort of proof of small miracles, I guess
You obviously have never had flannel sheets.
I tend not to own flannel anything; I grew up in the 90s. The end of flannel came and went. Cotton is the future
No. No, youâre wrong. We went to a quilting store a couple of weeks ago and picked up some wide flannel so the Dragonlady could make us a nice duvet cover. That, paired with the lovely flannel sheets we got from IKEA, was wonderful. Granted, the sheets are probably antiques by now.
I literally squeed and rubbed myself all over the bed between the sheets and duvet when we put it on the bed.
There. Science.
I counter your science with internet anecdotes! Where is your God now!?
He made the flannel
Um. Flannel is cotton.
Is it? I thought it was something to do with synthetic wool⊠especially since it comes apart in little fluffy nodules like wool doesâŠ
Well, the crappy kind of flannel may have some polyester in it, but that kind of flannel is reserved for people who donât know that denim is cotton.
I had a look at the local clothes store website at what they call âflannelâ and yeah itâs mostly polyester here as a normal thing. Ew. Explains the falling apart thing rather well.
Now, see, here in the US even the flannel that Walmart sells is 100% cotton.
Flannel
All the flannel I have is cotton or mostly cotton, but that may be a textile bias we have in the USA. I believe flannel was usually wool some time ago, but I donât recall seeing any recently (like in 20+ years).
I still adore my laptop. And I realized that so long as my kids are away for the weekend, I can stream the Steam games it wonât run from my desktop machine. I did this just enough to be amused by it.
I am trying to find a mid range($700-800) laptop that will be mostly used for gaming and school work. Does anyone have a suggested brand? I will be loading windows 7 or 8.1 on it (whatever i can get my hands on for cheap), it also needs to be less than 6lbs. I dont think I will need a screen bigger than 15 inches.
