I know we have a number of photogs here (myself included) and I’ve started playing around with Photoshop recently. I figured this would be a good place to share tips, tricks, and tutorials. I came across this one today and thought it was sort of cool.
I hardly use Photoshop that comes with my Adobe CC Photography subscription, but I do use Lightroom a lot. I can give tips on Lightroom for those that need it.
On the rare occasions I do anything, I tend to use Photoshop. Though I have done a bit of colour/brightness work in Lightroom - both are pretty good tools.
I found this tutorial pretty useful - and not just for removing unwanted people. I also learned how to add and remove selections (yeah, I didn’t realise you could do that). There are quite a few useful tutorials in that channel.
I’m starting to get back into Photoshop and learning how to use it and it seems it’s actually stimulating my creativity again, which is nice. I just tried this tutorial and, while I’m not totally enamoured with the end result, I don’t think it’s bad for a first attempt. The tutorial taught me some basic skills about layer masking and placing multiple pictures in a creation, which is a good start. I also learned how to create a watermark and assign it to a brush preset so it’s available for anything I do in Photoshop.
@Road_Rash, I signed up for the Adobe CC Photography subscription as well, so any Lightroom tips and tricks you could give would be appreciated.
Let me know. I still use Lightroom for about 99% of what I do. I might play around with the new sky replacement feature in Photoshop just to check it out.
I just did a fresh install of Windows so I decided to redo my import, catalog and export settings in Lightroom just to get it the way I want after 3 years of use.
And yet another tutorial - this one on creating a 3-D sketch drawing effect. Since I’m a huge Hawkeye/Renner fan I decided to give it a try with him as the subject. I’m really pleased with the way this one turned out… and I have a new wallpaper for my computer!
From the “oh no, Lisa’s doing Photoshop tutorials again” files, here’s my attempt at creating wax seals. I’m particularly please with the Cthulhu one. If anyone wants me to pop their initials or logo in and make one for them, let me know.
