The least they could do is stop mothballing the three that are still in operation.
But hang on to your gas prices in the US as we prepare to screw with the nation that sells us 21% of our gasoline. Good thing we stopped all new production here.

Iâm seeing 7% as of 2020. Do you have a newer source?
Iâm not going to pretend to know the first thing about Ukraine, but when Putin says heâs fighting fascism and you do some cursory Google-fu around the current government, I rather believe he is being honest.
Probably unnecessarily land-grabby but Putinâs strong right now. Nato isnât. Heck the top two boats in our Navy are in land docks because they wonât stop taking on water
weâre a joke, and weâre supposed to be key allies in what would be an embarrassingly short and disastrously fatal war.
I see this going cyber next. Prepare for deep levels of cringe as newscasters try to explain denial of service attacks and how theyâre the reason Arkansas has no Internet nor Cable TV right now⌠and even further levels of cringe as they try to explain the NATO counter-attack. A hot war would be the worst of all options right now, which is presumably why Pelosi is threatening itâŚ
This one.
Interesting times for sure.
Putin âthreatenedâ action on countries whoâll try to interfere with Anschluss v2.
My grabbamintâs planning to send some troops to the Ukraine for assistance.
Going to be interesting to see what happens.
Putinâs probably playing the endgame now.
Thanks. Looks like that may have been an anomaly and itâs tapered off by more detailed info:

So, it appears that so far Russiaâs army is kind of crap. Just like is was 40 years ago.
Sure, they are curb stomping Ukraine, but they are getting bloodied as hell. After a couple days they still donât have air superiority. Yet despite this lack they keep trying to insert troops via IL-76 and helicopters which are getting shot down off and on.
Several sites I read are wondering what is going on with Putin.a lot of what is going on doesnât scan. But fog of war and who the hell knows what.
Could be a snare of course, have the soldiers act with reckless abandon to weed out the idiots, NATO think that the army is made entirely out of said idiots, retaliate, bloodbath at the hands of the Ruskies. Childish, but far more believable than that Ukriane would fail this hard against what appear to be complete idiots.
I donât think they are failing hard. Most estimates put Kiev in Russian hands by Friday. The Russians are going at this just like the Soviets would have. None of this is all that surprising. The soldiers didnt even know they were going to do this.
Do you want Hillary Clinton to run for president again? At least a few people do. But if she decides to and if Donald Trump ever gets around to actually saying he will run for president again instead of hinting and implying he will, that would give voters the exact same choice in 2024 as they had in 2016: Hillary Clinton or someone who isnât Hillary Clinton.
As I said before, my vote in 2016 came down to I had doubts about Donald Trump, but he was a Republican and he wasnât Hillary Clinton. We all saw the consequences of voting for a person because âat least theyâre not Hillaryâ.
A recovering economy. Best employment numbers for minorities in ages. Energy independence, a least a bit. Reduction in CO2 greater than required by Paris Accords. middle and lower incomes increasing faster than the rich. NATO countries being held to the agreements they signed.
And, Hillary claiming the election was rigged for a couple years. Her campaign funding oppo research that was founded on nothing that tied up the administration for years. As for her foreig policy, seen Libya lately?
But she isnât overtly rude or obnoxious I guess. So we got that.
What is so obvious to me is that Russian troops are being sent into the Ukraine without logistical support (food and fuel).
What sort of army does that? Unless the logistics officer was a truly incompetent cadre, I just donât know.
Any army that goes in need to have protected supply lines, and these must not be stretched too thin, as Hitler and others have learnt.
So, back in the day when I played battle simulators by SSI as my main religion this was always a thing. And when I joined the Army it was still a thing.
The Soviet Army sounds great on paper, but they are mostly conscripts with NCOs promoted out of that but churned through every couple of years, with many more officers than what we have as a matter of course, since thatâs the only source of experienced leadership. Based mostly on following doctrine with an emphasis of hunkering down and waiting for someone else to make the decision if something goes wrong.
Mix that with the effects of Western Culture on these conscripts and a lack of even knowing A) That they were invading and B) where the hell they actually are and what the plan is and this should have been expected by everyone.
They have apparently run out of the fancy shit they had staged at the border and now have to use the traditional artillery pound shit to scrap formula.
The (former) brigade I was in has a FB page, and somebody posted a meme youâd get, @Woodman.
A picture of Leo Decap pointing excitedly to what you can guess is a TV, with the caption:
Soldiers from the 80âs identifying the Russian armor onscreen.
Um, yup. ![]()
The spectrum game âStonkersâ, sort of a minimalist wargame, applies.
I struggled with it for a while, until the penny dropped.
Simply waylay the enemyâs supply chain, and his armyâll surrender due to no supplies.
Shall we play a game?
Kamala Harris is being sent to PolandâŚ
That will fix everything. The more I see her the more I understand why she didnât make it to the first primary before she dropped out.
Vice president is an interesting position. Completely pointless unless the president dies, then absolutely crucial.
There are times when you look at a vice president and think âthey might not actually be worse than the incumbentâ.
Other times you think âIf thereâs a deity, please donât let this idiot become presidentâ (Dan Quayle anyone?)
I donât know much about Kamala Harris, but what I have seen would put her somewhere in between those extremes, though I suspect she might be towards the lower end.
The only thing any politician excel in, is the ability to benefit him/herself at the cost of other people.
Dan Quayle was the perfect Vice President. Every time George screwed up there was Dan misspelling potato. Maybe that is what Kamala is supposed to be doing, lightning rod is a legitimate job, but she scares me.
In the US they are often given portfolios to âlead the charge onâ as the face of the government. Itâs not an official role, but it shows the government cares. Often those things fix themselves, are âfixedâ by Congress, or are swept under the rug.
From reports I have read Kamala doesnât read her briefings, or have them read to her, and it shows. Her interviews are filled with awkward simplistic interpretations of what is going on and her void filling laugh/cackle.
