Conservative Minuteman posted a video on FB, where this drunk, idiotic white guy is lip syncing Donald Trump speeches. And they’re right. He does sound like a drunk idiot.
I just watched the cell phone video from the shooting at the end of the Oregon occupation. What a nightmare.
The police were shooting before he even got out of the car. Frankly if you are yelling “You’re going to have to shoot me” you are going to be shot, but they started off shooting at the truck, and then after he is down shoot it some more. The news report says a total of six shots, but it sounds like more than that. It is hard to tell the difference between the gas grenades and bullets, but for a minute it sounds like a firefight, but only one side is shooting.
It was pretty hard to watch.
Seems like the Oregon State Police are like the ATF, you are more likely to survive if you are armed and shooting back. The police in this country have looser ROE than our military does.
I watched the entire press conference. The first three shots was because Finicum was driving at the officers in the roadblock, and they were trying to disable the truck.
The shots that killed him were from three different officers. Finicum repeatedly tried to get his gun out of his coat pocket. The last time, it looked like it was done deal. One of the state police officers was trying to get a shot with a taser, but couldn’t because Finicum’s jacket kept blowing around.
The two shots fired before he got out of the truck were by the FBI agents and that is being closely investigated by the state police, the DOJ Inspector General, the sheriff’s major incident team, and the FBI’s internal investigation team, working in cooperation. Partly because the two agents did not disclose the fact that they had fired, and other actions they took that they didn’t disclose. The US Attorney for that area sounded pissed about those omissions.
And I didn’t see any gas grenades being used.

At one point you can actually see the smoke in the vehicle, but the wind is pretty fierce. The crying and retching in the vehicle is pretty indicative of CS to me.
If it isn’t tear gas grenades, then someone took a lot more than a couple shots at the truck.
I saw a picture of the pistol in his jacket, worst possible place to keep one, and the damn thing was backwards for a draw if I remember correctly. I agree that it looked like he was reaching in his jacket, I’m jus tnot sure what the hell he was really doing. Could have been reaching for a pistol, but if so why the hell didn’t he grab it? I’m not really going to second guess them taking him down there, while he had his hands up he was also spinning in circles and yelling shoot me while fumbling with his jacket.
Again, police go for the violent confrontation when they could have picked them up in town. Just like the times they execute no-knock warrants in the middle of the night on people that have jobs. Let’s see, we’ve suspected he’s a dealer for weeks, we could kick his door in tonight and raid his family, kill his dog, and throw a flash bang in a crib, or we could just pick him up in the parking lot at his work. Or his favorite bar, or on his way to his car.
The standards policy books the police are using right now are FUBAR. You don’t shoot a 12 year old with a BB gun, you don’t shoot someone leaning on a BB gun in a Walmart, you don’t throw grenades into rooms you can’t see, and you read addresses correctly.
In so many of these incidents just a pause and everything is cool, yes I know you can get shot pausing like that, that’s part of the risk. Minimum amount of force right? Asses the situation and react accordingly.
OTOH, the Oregon State Police are some sharpshooters, 3 shots and three hits. Might help that any missed shots were hitting their buddies and not random passers by.
Also, Mr. Obama once again snubs someone’s funeral for something more fun.
The only thing I saw that could have been smoke was the blowing snow. The people in the truck were yelling and screaming before police were even close to the truck.
Take them down in town? When there are bystanders, and Finicum had already been all over Youtube and such, saying he was going out shooting? They created a roadblock, out in the country. No bystanders to get hurt.
But it’s not like any of that is going to matter. The video could show him using a flamethrower on an orphanage, with every child holding a kitten with cancer, and it would still be the gubmint’s fault.
We’re going to be seeing more of this.

As far as the smoke grenades, I thought I saw smoke, and a certainly heard multiple things hit the truck. If they were using grenade launchers then they didn’t even have to move from their positions in the road block, which were within rock chucking range anyway. Something broke all the windows on the truck.
Anyway, I’m not interested in defending this dude too much. Play stupid games and win stupid prizes.
As far as anti-Muslim violence, even with the uptick to over 150 incidents in 2015 from 135 or so in 2014 it’s still 1/6th of the violence against Jews. Don’t see many PSAs about that. Hell 94 Christians were attacked because of their faith in 2014, a minuscule number compared to their population, but still there.
So yeah, a bad thing, but not an epidemic. 20% of racial hate crime are against white people. Belong to a group, someone will hate it.
I do wonder if there is a lower IQ requirement to attack what you think is a Muslim, considering the number of Sikhs, Buddhists, and whatever else attacked.
