Update to the community guidelines

There has been an update in the community guidelines regarding “link 'n runs.” Just a friendly reminder, please remember to write something to start a discussion with your link rather than just the link.

If you’re not sure where the community guidelines disappeared to, you can find them here.

That’s just way too many rules. How am I supposed to remember them all? :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t realize “link and run” was becoming an issue here.

It was an issue in the past, and it isn’t a problem yet, but it has been creeping in lately, so we mods decided to post a reminder before it did become an issue.

All hail the moderators!

If I wanted to ignore the rules, I guess each word of that sentence would have been a link.

Ah, but then you would incur moderater wrath! (Like we have so much of that around here.)

It’s been a while since I flexed my wrath muscles…:imp:

It appears that someone recently flexed a wrath muscle here. lol

Yep. I know you were joking, but still…

I know. At least I didn’t incur full wrath.

A lot of my posts in Web Find of the Day are, in fact, link 'n runs, if you want to get technical about it. I just wanted to point that out in case @Lee_Ars decides to hire a trigger happy moderator around here someday. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, we understand that sometimes, just a link is about enough. Maybe say WHY you think it’s cool, or why you think folk here would like it.

The ones we grew to dislike were the ones in a discussion thread… like olitics, or whatever, that were just a link.
