It’s like a machine-learning theremin with 4 voices.
Orbital mechanics make my brain hurt. Almost-circular ellipses orbiting inside other almost-circular ellipses at different speeds observed from another body also on an almost-circular orbit at a different speed again…
ABBA songs sung by ABBA puppets, with special appearances by all four members and Cher. See how they tried to break into the music biz.
Linus Sebastian deliberately tries to kill DRAM by enlisting Electroboom (Mehdi Sadaghdar) and his ESD gun. Fun with 10K-25K volt static charges! Scroll down to see Electroboom’s video about his follow-up efforts to kill the DRAM that refuses to die. Where was this when I was in college?
Interesting YT regarding New York’s aging subway tunnels, and the presidential hissy fit that stonewalled it.
Governor Cuomo seems to understand the situation better than most politicians, and is getting things done by sheer force of will… but money does not always grow on trees.
If a tunnel decide to collapse, and 20% of GDP goes bye-bye, it’ll have ripple effects all over the world.
We’ve been having huge problems (pre-Trump, to be fair) keeping the DC metro functional the last decade or so. There’s been fires and in general the quality of the system has gone harshly downhill.
It’s kinda of interesting that one issue among many essential comes down to a polarity issue of sorts. No one makes the style WMATA uses so they’re having to source replacements instead of upgrading the whole system (which is a miserable stretch of track compared to the NYC subway.).
KFC is upgrading their “KFC Chicken Sandwich” in response to other fast food places improving or adding chicken sandwiches. They are launching the upgraded sandwich in nine cities and eventually it will be nationwide. The fun thing is they’ve got a website where you can type in a location and see if the sandwich is there yet.
For details on the sandwich itself and those from the other companies, here’s your article.
This would be incredible to own, I think. It’s a sedan based on a Ford F250 chassis. The company is in Brazil and they seem to have switched to making nothing but 16’ bed pickup trucks for Saudi oil princes, but the concept is still great.
Weren’t Century cabs built so that a lot of the parts could be replaced with standard truck parts?
Someone did stop motion animation with LEGO figures to recreate the turkey drop scene from WKRP in Cincinnati.
I knew it. Need to fill a library? Here you go:
(I used to joke the corporate art most companies had years ago was from ‘Art by the Pound.’)
Half Price Books has done this for years.
Mr. TM watches a lot of Nerdforge videos on Youtube. I don’t usually watch with him, but he was halfway through a video today when I came down and so I said “just watch the rest”. He was going to fast forward through the sponsor pitch she was doing, but a few seconds in I made him stop and watch the pitch and, thus, found out about this:
I’ve put a fantasy novel I was writing on hold because I realised I needed to world-build before I wrote any more. I checked this out and it looks really cool. There is a lot you can do with the free account, but I ended up signing up at “Journeyman” level as there was a good sale ($37.10 CAD for the year) and I felt I could do a lot more with the tools provided at that level.
There’s a company called URWizards that has a lot of very beautiful dice sets. They’re not cheap, with some of them coming close to $100 for a set, but they are gorgeous. There’s several different kinds of wood like purpleheart, ebony and walnut, then there’s resin dice and gemstone dice in labradorite, blue sandstone, white howlite, opalite, blue agate, green flourite, rose quartz, obsidian, ruby, lapis lazuli, jasper, unaklite and others I’ve never heard of before.
I don’t even play roleplaying games but I want them. I’m not going to buy them unless I win the lottery and then it’s going to be “Shut up and take my money!”
Among the themes they have are dice with pictures of cats on them. On a lot of them that have a cat face on one side or a front-view of a picture, guess what’s on the opposite side of the die? Yup. Cat butt. The easiest to see this design is probably the Dichroic Prism Glass set.
