Emerald City Comic Con just postponed the convention until summer, with dates to be determined. Everyone is getting an automatic refund on their tickets. Maybe by then things will be settled down.

Something big brewing in West Africa. Will have to wait for confirmation.

The Arnold is in Cbus this weekend. They closed pretty much everything to spectators and shut down the Expo Hall and Kids Expo. Thousands of people in town with nowhere to go. Athletes being screened and monitored. Gonna stay away from downtown, that’s for sure. Since there’s nowhere for the spectators who flew in from all over to go except all over town.

Hopefully not just you

The Arnold = The Terminator?

Well, our lovely Dept of Health fumbled their only chance to be able to contain Coronachan from entering ZA.

I fear Coronachan is already on the loose and will spread explosively as in Italy and Iran.

The next few weeks ahead will be quite interesting.

Yeah, he has a huge fitness expo here in Columbus every year. Thousands of athletes, tens of thousands of spectators, a huge expo with all sorts of info and vendors. But this year, not so much. Still happening but without crowds for the most part.

A lot of ‘big gatherings’ are getting canceled this year. My go-to for the list so far is:

(It’s meant to be a bit humorous… But also has links to relevant info.)

Too soon guys, too soon.

I liked this article. It gave a lot of good information.

Now we have four more cases, making a total of 7.

I’m pretty sure by now it have reached vulnerable areas and is running amok. Will have to wait and see - two more weeks…

Great stuff, thanks.

Somebody posted a picture on FB of their panic room:

(apparently some people are stockpiling toilet paper. Yep, of all things to stockpile, they are doing toilet paper)

I agree it’s a little ridiculous, but people are seeing areas enforcing quarantines and wondering if they’ll be able to buy essentials. Like toilet paper.

Yeah, I get the worry about not being able to buy essentials. But to me that means food. Or pretty much anything else. There are so many things that are way more essential than toilet paper. Hell, if the worst came to the worst I’d have a crap and then go have a shower.
Don’t get me wrong, I’d much prefer to have toilet paper, but I’m not about to go out panic buying it.

We’ve cancelled our trip. Pretty much all of Japan is shutting down - all the museums are closed, temples & shrines are closed to non-locals, cherry blossom viewing events are cancelled. No point in going if everything we want to see is closed.

It’s happened. Chinese student in Queensland flew to Dubai for a 2 week “holiday”. Got infected somewhere along the way. Turns up to his local hospital “feeling unwell” a few days after he enters Oz. Who knows how many other people he infected?

In other news, a migrant worker from Nepal got infected somewhere on his way to Australia. His doctor said “until you get the test results, you must self-isolate and avoid going out”. So what does he do? He goes to work. At a hotel, and a restaurant, with close contact with potentially hundreds of people. For a week, before authorities catch up with him. I hope he gets deported.
