Whoo hoo! 10 years later, I can still read!!
Well SC and I are still married. SC is a Senior Programmer/ Department Lead. Heās been moving up the ranks there for the last 5 years and now runs a department of 6 programmers. Demon_Spawn will be 11 a the end of January. DS is a very unique little guy but what do you expect when he has us for parents⦠Iām the most boring of the fam and Iām a snarky SAHM.
Itās nice to see so many familiar names!!
For internet figments of my imagination you guys have awful creative back stories. Especially keeping the consistency going by aging children properly off screen and everything.
Iām not dead either. Lol, thereās a certain poetic symmetry to me posting another āIām backā message in the thread I actually started.
No big changes to report on my side - still at the same job, still married to the same guy, still living in the same place. Yup, Iām a boring old fart.
The one thing thatās changed a bit is that Iām doing more and more conventions and other things with the button business. For those that didnāt know, I sell 2.25 inch pinback buttons with pop culture and wise, witty and geeky sayings on them.
I have a core of about four cons Iām doing every year, and Iām adding more each year. @Guido, if you and Mrs. Guido are coming to ComicCon in Toronto this month, I have a booth there - PM me if you want details. Iām having a lot of fun with it, and itās really got me back into fandom in a lot of ways. Iāve also done a couple of contracts with a small publishing house and a martial arts studio for bulk custom orders, which has gone well. Itās not going to make me enough money that I can quit my job, but it does pay my way to attend these cons.
Writing-wise, everythingās pretty static too. Iāve written a couple of small things, have ideas for more, but Iām still having a problem putting butt in chair and actually writing on a consistent basis. I really need to work on that.
Anyway, glad to be back and looking forward to reconnecting and hanging around a bit more.
Yes. Yes, you do.
Whoa⦠this is all new and shiny⦠Iām alive and well too!
Welcome back.
Thanks! For anyone who doesnāt remember me, I had the tag of āDrunken Installerā due to my aptitude for doing computer/mechanical work while inebriated. I have definitely slowed down on that. I have moved on from my Help Desk role at that Big Blue company and am now doing Data Warehouse support for that same company. Bought a house in '09, got married in 2010, had a little girl in 2013 (named her Gwen). And thatās where time has brought me! Glad to see a lot of names from the past still kicking around here.
For clarityās sake: Installing, inebriation or both?
Posting in the Iām back thread, because you have to start again somewhere. Though it has been a long time, what did you all do to the place?
We donāt talk about⦠the incident.
You let Ratty near the servers again, didnāt youā¦Ah well, good to see the (some) of the old gang keeping up traditionā¦
It was late, we were drunk, there was a midget involvedā¦
Dude! You gave a mushroom to a midget and said āGrow Mario! Grow!ā
This is the result of a whole lot of system administration while under the influence.
But what about Microsoft Bob?
That was a bad acid trip.
Imagine how the consumers felt.
ā¦at least for the moment.
