This thread needs more DUB-MASS!

Thatâs messed up. In junior high and high school we always had 5-7 minutes between classes.
Nobody competent.
Thatâs just ridiculous - the reaction all 3 of you had is a completely normal reaction that almost anyone would have in the same situation.
This is for virtual school. Maybe in-person is different.
Are the virtual sessions basically trying to start at the set time or just saying âcall is open at 2:00 but weâll start at 2:05?â
No, theyâre held pretty strictly to the start times and if youâre not on Zoom when class starts, youâll be marked late.
This may be punishment disproportionate to the crime. The Ever Given cargo shop got stuck in the Suez Canal after a windstorm cut down visibility and the ship wound up turned partly sideways. Less than a week later, itâs freed.
But now itâs stuck again because Egyptian authorities donât just want compensation for the $95 million in passage fees they lost. They want $1 billion for damage to the canal from dredging to free the ship and to compensate 800 people who worked to release it. They wonât let the ship leave until itâs paid.
In my day, virtual school would have been over a 2400 baud modem. ![]()
Youâd think the canal pilot would be liable. I read elsewhere that they charge exorbitant fees for their own (required) pilots, who are frequently only barely competent or sober.
If you have to straw man the most extreme version of the other sideâs views to make your point and canât ever cite anyone who believes this, you arenât engaged in serious discussion.
Quite.
Unfortunately they will do their thing.
What about more cowbell?
Wut?
My initial knee-jerk reaction would be to sail the ship back to the canal, and scuttle her, then abandon ship.
IMHO the Egyptian authorities are responsible for cAnal maintenance and upkeep, and if they dredged the other part of the canal as they were supposed to, the ship would not have got stuck?
You know that this is just a terrorist attack away from being another global disaster. All ships will have to sail around the Horn and then pirates.
Same for the Panama, but easier.
Horn of Africa is close to the Suez canal, interestingly.
Cape Horn is the southernmost tip of South Africa.
My fellow countrymen may just consider that, given their nature⌠and it do happen⌠hides head in shame
I want to know where eye rolling came from.
Bored barbarians who didnât have any marbles to roll?
Jen Psaki is my hero. She really knows her stuff.
Ah, yes, should have known it was DoocyâŚ
