I’d hate to be anyone on that fence line if this actually happens. There is no winning this one. I’d expect tear gas and noise attacks, but then what do you do about the 100 people who wore masks that work and have decent ear protection? And God forbid any of those dudes are actually people up to no good.

So it turns out Facebook bots are taking people’s data to make highly-focused custom T-Shirts. The aesthetics of the shirt are, in my opinion, highly dubious, but I have to ask:

Point. I haven’t noticed the highly-specific shirt offers myself, but seem to be hearing about them from multiple directions.

This crosses a lot of topics in the categories of books, comics, TV shows, movies and games, but voting has begun for Dragon Con’s Dragon Award. Larry Correia has the list of nominees and categories. He’s in there for ‘‘House of Assassins’’. Registering to vote can be done on the awards page.

There’s a few I’d vote for just because I recognize them like the Firefly novel, Big Damn Hero or the TV show The Orville.

I get them as “promoted posts” in my feeds. There’ve been some cute ones, but I usually just scroll on by.

My account’ll be deleted real soon, it was just dormant most of the time, and I got tired of the neverending notifications from arsebook.

There is content I would miss if I dropped it. Extended friends, or just people I don’t get to talk to as much as I’d like.

There is a lot of content I wouldn’t miss, but I also am aware that you can end up in an ‘echo chamber’ if you only listen to people with similar views.

I did briefly consider setting up a node for one of the open, federated systems. That would raise the percentage of people I actually want to talk to, but has several problems like getting friends to move and creating the aforementioned echo chamber.
