What's Your New Shiny?

Taran. It means “Thunder” in Welsh (I’m pretty sure…). I’ve been on a bit of a tear, tracking down Copperfox model horses. Not a lot were made, and the company has died more times than an extra from the Walking Dead. But I wuvs ‘em.

Oh UGH, I don’t know how you do it. I’m on Humira now, for rheumatoid arthritis, and I’m injector pen all the way. Going on a year, and I’ve only had one fail on me (the replacement was prompt, I’ll give ‘em that). But then, on a “bad hand day”, I’m dangerous with anything sharp. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s a bit rough, it goes in the first inch with just a little sting, but then I need to push again and that makes a popping kind of feeling and then injecting it burns. I mean, I’m pretty far along living with cancer and the beetus to worry about needles, but getting both the giving a shot and taking a shot sensory input sucks. The first time I did it my leg hurt like shit for days, I left the needle just sitting in there before I started to inject it, this time it’s just a bit sore a couple days later.

I do have the trans Youtube community to thank for how to do it. Plenty of advice on how to do testosterone intramuscular shots there.

That makes me think of the Prydain Cycle by Lloyd Alexander. Taran is the name of the main character.

This is why I take my estrogen in pill form. But I realize a lot of the drugs you’re talking about probably don’t have that option.

Have you tried Bee sting therapy? Dead serious, if you haven’t look into it. We always joke around here that we don’t all have crippling arthritis because we get stung all the time, and one of the beekeepers I know will get himself stung in the knees on purpose.

Unfortunately that’s considered pretty risky for RA, being it’s an autoimmune disorder and bee venom could kick off even more immune system mayhem. As long as I can maintain remission, I’ll keep on keepin’ on.

Thats interesting as what I have read about it says it specifically aids with RA. Looking again real quick seems like the data says it works but can have issues. I had pregnancy read an article from several years ago in a bee magazine.

And, since no one is really studying it I guess that’ll be where it stays.

I just ordered a snow shovel attachment for the Ryobi power head system I have. I’d intended to get one of these eventually, so I guess that’s now. It has some problems like only throwing snow directly ahead, but it should cover our needs after the plow gets done mostly blowing out our driveway for the walkways and early mornings I might need to get out. I’m not getting any younger, and a double-stage blower just isn’t going to work for me. With 2 cars in the driveway, there’s no way to get by to do the end of the driveway so I can get the cars out do the driveway.
