OK, accessing the internet at work means shared IP addresses outbound right? That explains why weather.com is sometimes set to Charlotte NC instead of Indy, since we have an office down there. Happens with other sites as well.
I notice certain things show up in the ads that I didn’t put there, but make sense for someone else in our office, But some of the most prominent are ads for mail order Russian or Korean brides. I have to wonder if it’s just a symptom of the combination of all the surfing I do, or if it’s a conglomerate of the office’s surfing, or if there are people using the office internet to shop for wives.
And it’s like it shifts back and forth between profiles. Because on one session I can’t get rid of them, and then a few hours later I don’t see a single one.
You’re reminding me that I need to play with my new firewall today. I was using IPCop in my classroom, but it doesn’t give me the kinds of reports that I need, so I changed over to PFSense on Friday.

Oh yeah. I got a Cisco ASA for my “home lab” I need to work on. Rebuilt my office a bit this weekend, and need to work on my diagram for laying out the lab.

On the positive side, we got some rain. On the negative side, it was just enough to make it totally miserable outside, and not enough to cool it off or actually water anything.
We still haven’t gotten rain yet. My garden is so dry, even with watering… Hopefully tonight and tomorrow…
We got about 10 minutes of deluge and lightning, then 20 minutes of misty drizzle.
Just enough to make me go get sprout from her golf camp. And act like throwing water on the rocks in a sauna.

I don’t pay for Spotify because I’m still working out if I like it, but the ads are mostly ads for listening to adds to avoid hearing ads. It’s not too often I hear an add for an actual product.
Just seems odd. Kind of like how most SXM ads appear to be for other Sirius stations.

It’s funny though, if I understand correctly the building is run by a private company, with tenants, the government, and this management company all being on a board to run it? Also from what I saw the tenant reps outnumber the government and management reps?
So they are mad at the government for letting them make stupid decisions?
