Jeff Foxworthy had a joke years ago about the side effects of a medicine to help with itchy, watery eyes where the side effects went on forever. I just heard a commercial for a real medicine where they listed about twenty side effects that could happen, with some of them a lot worse than what it is supposed to treat. Wow.
I think according to the FDA you have to list anything that happened to anyone taking the drug during the trial. And it might be easier to just list it as a side effect than prove itās not related.
but yeah.

Nine days ago, cold enough that I had to have the heat on. Tonight, warm enough that I had to turn on the A/C on so I could sleep. I hate Ohio weather.

I was going to say, welcome to the Midwest.
I officially turned the furnace off in the middle of April. Weāve broken the space heaters out a couple times since then.
And then the ever popular 40 degree morning followed by the 85 degree 105% humidity afternoon.

Once a mod, always a mod, it seems. Last night I got on to the schoolās Moodle server user admin page and killed over a third of the accounts. These were accounts that signed up from .ru, .cn, .cc, etc types of e-mail addresses. Then I changed the security so that only users with e-mail addresses from the schoolās domain could create accounts.

I wonder how a student feels when website that theyāve been visiting for the last half an hour suddenly gets a message saying that itās been blocked by the administrator?

That sounds like it is one student in particular. And like it is a well deserved block.
I have a few. Iāll watch them for a while, then Iāll start browsing the proxy logs on that machine. Then the blocking beginsā¦

I know others have voiced the same concerns and complaints before, but do we really need to be shipping water over 6,500 miles from Fiji to the United States? How much plastic, cardboard, ink and fuel is required to package and transport it? Weāve already got situations like the Colorado River no longer even reaching the Gulf of California because so much water is drawn out of it. Do we really need yet another bottled water just because itās from a different country?
I couldnāt possibly drink the same water as the plebes.
Though Fiji is getting too mainstream. Iām drinking coconut water from Bali now.
How I wish you were really joking. Coconut water is all the rage here.
Ughā¦ Iām allergic to coconut, so I have never tried coconut water. My wife, however, drinks it often. I think she drinks it before going to the gym, or possibly after. So I guess it is supposed to have something in it that would be beneficial when working out? I havenāt looked too closely, I just know it is well over a buck a can at Walmart, and around a buck at Aldi, so kinda pricey in my book. I meanā¦ I donāt always drink beer, but when I do, it usually costs less than a buck a bottle. (Iām not a big fan of beer from a can, so I buy bottles. And $7 - $8 for a six-pack bothers me; I can usually find Miller products in a 18-20 pack for around $13. Just gotta know where to look and keep an eye out for sales. 
)

OTOH, I have bought the odd case or two of Rocky Mountain Pisswater myself when I just canāt be bothered to care, and itās hot outside.
This is totally me. Except the piss water is from Mexico (Corona).

I tried a Coors of some sort in college and immediately understood the nickname. I donāt believe Iāve tried it since.
I canāt drink most Anheuser-Busch products, because they generally give me a headache, which kind of sucks, because some of the Michelob varieties are really good. As a Buffett fan, I have always wanted to try LandShark, too, but it is brewed by AB, so I just havenāt.
I like to try different beers, especially if out with friends, but someone always recommends an IPA, like it is a gift from God or something, and Iāve yet to have an IPA that I didnāt find awful. I looked up the history and understood why - the Pale Ale shipped (like, sailing ship) to India used to get all nasty on the long voyage, but it was all they had, so they drank it anyway and got used to it. Sooo, yeah, IPAs have, like, zero appeal for me.
Bass Ale, if a bar has it on tap, is very nice. There is an odd hole-in-the-wall type place down near the ship channel that has something like 60 varieties on tap. (Moon Tower, if youāre in the area (Hey, they finally updated the website! You donāt wanna know what it looked like before.)) On mug night, if you have a mug, that is a neat place to experiment. Sadly, I havenāt been in a couple years.
Corona is not my favorite south of the border beer, but at least it beats Coors.
I drink Coors to stay hydrated. Iāve downed two cases before playing volleyball and just ended up sort of drunk.
That reminds me of a female individual I sometimes encountered at parties in college. She was tall and letās say hefty. She would carry around a 12 or 24 pack of beer (I think Bud, but not sure), just tossing them back one after another. I donāt know how much it would have taken to get her really drunk, but I never saw her get to that point, like, never saw her stumbling around babbling drunk. She was more like just a fun party-goer most of the time, but I did see her nip a few fights in the bud, including getting all up in some dudeās face when he was the instigator or being an ass.
Ha! I didnāt listen to AC/DC back then, but do now, and am reminded of thisā¦
