Random Musings (and associated non sequiturs) v. 3.0

If… science fiction means things like star wars, star trek etc,
and fiction means most stories… then…

…would friction mean porn?

I have discovered the best cola on the market in Britain. It’s made by a company called Fever Tree and might be available elsewhere, but guys if you want a cola that actually tastes of cola (the fruit, not the synthetic caramel of Bepis nor Cukacola) try to find it.

It’s expensive mind; £1.80/500mL to Pepsi’s £1.20/2L.

Fever Tree is available all over. We have it in Canada and I’ve tried the tonic water. It was good in a drink, but yes … pretty spendy.

What I’m trying to find is a decent ginger beer. You know what I mean. It should burn through the back of your neck while it sends the top of your head spinning off into the neighbour’s yard. Old Jamaican grandmother ginger beer. I used to be able to depend on a company named Grace to make it properly, but they changed years ago to a more sugary recipe. A Canadian major grocery chain used to make one that fit the bill, but they caved as well. It’s grocery day tomorrow, so I may have another look around.

I love Dark and Stormys and the Ginger is more important than the rum in my opinion. I have tried tons, and really the best I find are small bottlers, the problem is sometimes I accidentally buy a ginger nuclear bomb.

We get Old Jamaica Extra Fiery ginger which is hot enough to get your nose tingling, think that’s a Schweppes brand?

Gimme!!!

Too late to sleep, too soon to get up.

I hear you. Coffee and cookies whilst wrapped in a blanket time?

More like a little light reading and I should have done the blanket thing but didn’t.

When did the simpler “as a precaution” get replaced with “out of an abundance of caution”? And why?

Inflation of terms. And instead of using a more complicated word they use multiple simpler and more common ones.

It has been confirmed that Russian soldiers dug in artillery positions in Chernobyl. It has also been confirmed that the ones captured have no idea what the area was famous for or that there was even a nuke plant there.

Locals are already saying “The Russians left Chernobyl, but Chernobyl will never leave them” Very likely that any soldier who was there for any period of time breathed in enough radioactive dust and crap to be a death sentence in the next few year.

Chernobyl popped on the 26th April 1986, 36 years ago.

I’m amazed that it was forgotten that quickly. Or they ignored that and thought that the radioactivity was gone.

The rest of their lives will be hell :frowning:

It appears that they simply pretend it didn’t happen.
