Random Musings (and associated non sequiturs) v. 3.0

Speaking from experience?

I mean, the light-headed-ness just added to the magic of the photos developing. Splitting headache and everything tasted like vinegar for hours afterwards!

Guess what? Optical mice don’t work on glass desks. My neighbour bought my old desk. She came over this morning because she set it up but her mouse wasn’t working. Solved with a mouse pad.

If she wants to keep the same aesthetic, a square of transparent adhesive drawer liner will work.

I’ve discovered I really like having a ā€˜desk may’ or in other words a fricken huge mousepad. I’ve gotten a couple great ones from novelkeys.com (bonus: they’re machine washable so I can toss them in the wash if they get grungy.) (I also am not at a place where I eat at my desk often.)

I like the sloth.

Their Sloth is nice. I’ve got the planet one as well as a squid/kraken design I think they’ve aged out.

They’re nice sized and very comfy. Not bad if you also end up doing fun stuff like assembling small stuff on them as they offer a little ā€˜grip’ compared to a bare hard surface.

I’d order that one as well…

Interesting that the mouse pad still are with us today, even though we have divorced ourselves from ballsy mice and optical mice now is the norm.

I also use a mouse pad.

I can remember my first mouse, the square, boxy Genius serial mouse. I miss it sometime.

Can’t remember what happened to it :frowning:

My mouse seems to get dirtier faster on the desk

I don’t know if this is the most Canadian thing I’ve heard in a while, but it’s something:

ā€œOne person was arrested after throwing a bicycle toward a police horse.ā€

Oh not here, the Macs and Acorn are still rollerball. We have an assortment of mouse-mats but my favourite pair are ones I got last Christmas, a matching coaster and mat set with a full moon and howling wolf on.

Because even in my 30s I’m an angsty teenager hehe

Shame for the officers involved that there is live video from three sources that proved this to be false. The guy they arrested mysteriously broke his arm and pelvis ā€œin transitā€

If nobody has capitalized on the series title ā€œThe Miss Teri Mysteriesā€ … you’re welcome.

Fixed it for you:

So it is hardly surprising that Port Elizabeth currently are experiencing a water crisis in the form of unsafe water which you need to boil first before drinking.

Elsewhere in the country there’s also water quality issues, and things look to get worse going forward.

All of this due to BEE and cadre deployment.

I’m ok for now, have a place where I get drinking water on contract, which is safe for consumption, and I think a lot of people will start to do the same.

Africa at its finest.

We had high hopes for a better country after Apartheid’s dismantled, but it did not happen. Instead we now have another form of Apartheid where job selection is not based on merit or experience, but rather on who you know and political appointments.

Another factor is the enforcement of BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) which does nothing but to enrich a select few individuals. Yet the hoi polloi still thinks it is the greatest thing since sliced bread, and they still blame others for their situation.

Going forward it seems that Putin’s actions in the Ukraine is going to have far-reaching consequences for Europe and the rest of the world as well.

I want to get off this planet. Now.

edited to add :

Is this Putin’s Anschluss?

First Ukraine…
Then Poland…
…and taking back all the previous territory that belonged to the former USSR, and that includes East Germany and Berlin.
