Random Musings (and associated non sequiturs) v. 3.0

cackles in witch

Somehow I’m just tuning these out.

Can anybody remember where it all started with banner ads? Then popups… then pageovers…

I read a lot of blogs still, and rather than join a patreon for a site I may not read again, I allow ads.

Where is my Hybrid RAM? A diesel generator powering 4 electric engines, and my camper? All the torque all the time? A billion miles a gallon, please. The 2023 mild hybrid adds 3 mpg, which makes it as efficient as my gas 2017 RAM. It also helps with acceleration and braking, but isn’t a real hybrid.

Sounds like a dielectric (diesel-electric) car?

On railways dielectric locomotives have a better fuel consumption over straight diesel, because the diesel plant can run at its optimized setting (max power, minimum fuel use).

Not sure how that will work in a car.

Remember kids, if you touched chilli seeds, be sure to wash your hands before touching your eyes.

Yes. I did.

It burns.

That’s why I wear rubber cleaning gloves when I make kimchi.

This is the recipe I used. Maangchi is a great resource for Korean recipes.

Good to know.
Johto’sPerson and I want to make more food at home(we go out to eat FAR too often). They are very partial to Koren, and Japanese food / styled foods. Im the cookout of the two of us. Too bad she/they don’t know much of their mom’s Mexican recipes as I’m a sucker for that.

You could ask the mom to teach them to you…

Not a single student passed the 8th grade math assessment test at LeBron’s I Promise school. Not one has passed the last three years worth, and I’m not sure about how many, but apparently a large number haven’t passed since 3rd grade. His school isn’t that old, but some of them were passing before they made it there, despite being the most disadvantaged kids around.

I understand turning things like this around can be a long term battle. But for them to go from some passing before to none passing now is a real concern. This is not a funding issue, or a support issue. I believe that the way we are teaching young people right now is flawed.

Something tells me many of these kids can tell me all they ways they have it bad and can’t make it. But apparently can’t do 4th grade math despite being in 8th grade.

Writing? She could probably write them down for you, then you could make the dishes and give some to her as a thank you. Or cook something else for her as a thank you.

Dude, that’s what Google Translate is for. Best thing ever. Use it in practice when I don’t have a translator :woman_shrugging:t3:

Why can’t I see a list of topics at the bottom of my screen now? My phone did something nefarious last night and it’s been all wonky since. In lots of ways. But CoG being one of the most important ways. I’m slightly too lazy to keep going back to the home page and prefer slothily just clicking the links.

Screen shot?

Now it’s working. Wtaf.

Well, whatever. Nagged it into submission I guess.
