RIP Thread

Just spotted this on the NPR website: Nancy Reagan, President’s Fiercest Protector, Dies At 94

And then we have Aubrey McClendon, who was a pioneer in the fracking (hydraulic fracturing) process for extracting fuels from ground material. He’d been indicted on March 1st for violating antitrust laws a few years earlier. On March 2nd, “he pretty much drove straight into the wall” of the viaduct, as stated by the Oklahoma City Police. Wasn’t wearing a seat belt, so he died. It will take about a week or so for them to figure out if that was a result of a medical condition/event or if he did it deliberately, since he wasn’t heading back to court as was initially reported.

Rue McClanahan has died like three times if you go by facebook.

I mean, sure, it’s possible she’s some sort of lich, but someone would have smashed her phylactery by now, right?

Keith Emerson

Tell us a bit out it! Remember, the link 'n run is our enemy…

I didn’t need any more info than the name to elicit an emotional response from me. :crying_cat_face:

I thought bad grammar and spelling were, also, but that may just be a personal preference instead.

Honestly, I thought Keith Emerson (Emerson, Lake, and Palmer) would need no explanation. In my world (and evidently Road_Rash’s, too), invoking his name is analogous to that of Elvis Presley or Elton John, but I see your point. Not everyone lives in my world. That’s their loss.

Link 'n run, bad grammar, spelling and an almost fanatical devotion to the pope… :stuck_out_tongue:

Since we have the policy, though, I do feel some need to say something so it doesn’t become a habit.

I didn’t know who he was until I saw your second post. I’ve heard of the group, but can’t name one of their songs.

In that case, you have my heartfelt sympathy for not living in my world.

Darryl Hunt, 51

Hunt was convicted of murder and rape in 1984. Almost 20 years later, he was exonerated by DNA testing, and the true murderer was caught. He founded a foundation to advocate for people wrongfully convicted. He was awarded a settlement from Winston-Salem for the improper handling of the investigation and his trial, for $1.6 million.

There’s no word on how he died yet.

CHP officer Nathan Taylor, 35

Watch the video. This really was one of the good guys.
