South Africa burns (2019)

So it was much ado about nothing.

What with the security forces and police being on the ball, the protesters could not do much damage and looting as was initially feared, and the whole protest ended up with a dismal whimper.

Seems like it is the end of the road for the EFF. We will have to wait and see though.

This tweet sums the “protest march” up perfectly.

So if they are pulling them down for the metal are they not aware that once they pull down enough there won’t be anywhere that can use the metal? Or is that just a cover story for isolating the towns for raids?

Things just keep on escalating :

Load shedding = planned power outages right?

Yep, you got it

Thr SAPO is gone.

And, in other news, this trend is very, very worrying.

Yup, another 5 pylons did a collapso.

Will post pix as soon as these is available.

Hammanskraal is to the North of Pretoria.

Also, this :

“78% of Grade 4 learners could not read for meaning in any language.”

“79% of Grade 6 maths teachers in the country scored below 60% on a Grade 6 maths test.”

In the long run SA’s failed public education system is a much bigger crisis than Eskom.

10 hours of no power each day.

Investors should not invest until this has been sorted out.

Generator already need to be booked for a service.

Seems our President is not too keen on telling the truth to potential investors.

Today they have started the installation of a PV system at the office.

Generator can be utilized as a back-up should the batteries not get enough time to recharge.

But there are lots of other businesses who cannot afford the capital outlay, and have to close their doors and people are without a work and income :frowning:

Dang. More people out of work makes more desperate people. Desperate people are going to do what they think they need to to survive.

I think the people in charge are counting on this. Hard to run a good dictatorship running a genocidal campaign if everyone is happy.

Self-enrichment while the country burns.

Don’t the know that fat and happy people are lazy and not likely to agitate for change? Bread and circuses!

The need the violent revolution first, then they can execute them or imprison them for later use. After that they give the free shit away.

And the circus continues…
