Things you wish you could say (at work)

it was! We’ve been doing a lot of crock pot meals on Sundays if we’re around the house. This was something like a 3 pound pork loin left to cook for about 3 hours with onions and stuff. Served as tacos that night, but I made a mess with torn-up tortillas and such to take with me for during the week.

Avocado wasn’t fit to eat after the first night, unfortunately. We’ve been trying to eat more avocado lately. I can only make guacamole so often, though.

My current job is such that 3 nights a week I work late and I’m on the phone supporting remote technicians. Breaks for meals are rare, so it’s usually sneaking in a half hour while my part of the project isn’t occurring.

What, does your arm get too weak? I don’t understand.

You wouldn’t last a week in California. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve gotten compliments on my guacamole, though… $Wife regularly insults the ‘avocado paste’ garbage for sale in stores, for example. I’ve also had some great luck with a Guiness-based cheese dip, if I’m not making people hungry enough.

dayum, now I want some avo’s…

In my house it’s $Fiancee who makes the guac. She gets lots of compliments.

Mmmm… guacamole. My recipe goes something like this: I add garlic, tomato, chili powder, a bit of onion, and a bit of salt to the avocado. It turns out pretty good. Are your recipes different?

Keep it all chunky, more than a bit of onion, lime or lemon juice, just a squeeze, the rest goes into my drink. Oh, and cilantro, and maybe hold the salt, depends. I’ve never used chili powder, but maybe my wife has.

My daughter just mashes up an avocado in a bowl with some tomato and onion and eats it with a spoon.

And it’s only good for about an hour.

I chop my onion and tomato very fine. When my guacamole is done, you can’t see them, but you can taste them.

Pretty much. I sometimes use a finely-chopepd jalepeno instead of or inaddition to the chili pepper.

I ripped off Alton Brown’s recipe.

Um, I too have a 3# pork loin languishing in the freezer. Can we have the real recipe, please? :grinning::stew:

Here’s the recipe, I think:

Didn’t know it was from a gluten free site, if that’s important to you. We basically did the pork as requested, then winged it for most of the rest: We prefer flour tortillas, ended up forgetting to open the pineapple, and topped it with whatever we had around.

Still good, though.

Is this now the foodies thread? :stuck_out_tongue:

It may have drifted a bit…

My boss got face time with head cheese.

He sees things her way, which matches my way, which hopefully means things are changing.

What I said, "Cool’

What I wanted to say…

Dear $Manglement

Have you decided yet who will be taking over my duties, as my manager is flatly refusing to do so.

Joy to you all on this point.

First, you wanted to outsource my job, but scratched that as it was too expensive.
Then you decided to hire a replacement, but that got nixed too.

Blessings be upon you all then.

Repeat after me: “not my circus, not my monkeys”

This is absolutely not your problem to worry about or solve.
