Things you wish you could say (everywhere)

Here they do it $ALE, of course. But that at least makes sense. :slightly_smiling:

You assholes refused to help me at the end of November, coming up with all kinds of excuses why you couldn’t even advise me of what my options were and the best way to use them.

But now you’re free to scream at me, regarding the steps I took to stand up for myself.

Go fuck a blender.

You want three reasons?

I.
Don’t.
Care.

Any time there is a countdown in a movie, make sure the on-screen time matches that countdown. It’s just annoying to hear ā€œhe’s got ten secondsā€ and then thirty seconds later, they finally reach zero.

Similar to that, when people have an hour to complete a task and have to fly from one place to another. Flying anywhere will take you a minimum of a couple of hours after all the fluffing about at airports, yet these people still have 45 minutes or so to complete their task.

No, feces and facetious are not even remotely related.

Idiot.

He was just giving you shit.

Any time there’s a car ā€œracingā€ in a movie, pay close attention to the gear shifts. Driving in a straight line and accelerating? Better show a few gear shifts. Half the time, they show a downshift.

Bugs the carp out of me too. If you haven’t already mentioned overdrive or something just drive the damn car.

I can’t remember which one of the Fast and Furious films it was, but they were so engrossed in the trope of ā€œchange gears = go fasterā€ that one character even managed to change gears to go faster while in reverse. You know, the single non-ratio gear.

I mean I know most Americans buy automatics and a majority of Joe Bloggs every-bodies will never drive a manual shift car, but it’s not some mystical beast that you control with some sort of magic dance, it’s just a regular five-speed or six-speed box that you operate with a lever instead of hydraulics.

Although us manual drivers are superior…

edit: Semi-automatic doesn’t count!

I remember watching Earthquake (1974) and hearing Charleton Heston talking about his amazing truck and that it had 8 forward and 3 reverse gears. That made sense to me then, when I was 10.

DUDE! I remember that, too, except I was watching it on one of those can’t-fall-asleep nights because there was absolutely nothing else on TV. It seemed kind of unusual to me at the time, but I chalked it up to being some sort of crazy 4-wheel drive customization thing. I mean, back then a lot of cars only had 3 speeds.

The question asked for insightful answers, not everybody chiming in with the same-old-same-old cliche.

Every fricking year that I have been alive, people have been talking about the coming of the Automationocalypse.

Show some fucking brains!

bwahahaha… I will prefer a manual above an automatic any time. I just feel in control of the car.

Way to go asshole. Now you have become the poster child for all the rabid nutjobs out there who object to children having loving homes with two dads.

when you get to prison, I’m sending your cellmate two cartons of cigarettes.

I thought that Greg Evigan & Paul Reiser documentary 28 years ago was very persuasive with its pro-bipaternal position.

Alright, who gave my dog amphetamines?

Probably the same person who gave them to my cat yesterday.
