Things you wish you could say (everywhere)

So, did it happen?

The three hours starts at 8a est. Closing is at 11a. Nothing like cutting it close…

Gief us update plix plox!

I had to Google that. @Ook is funny.

We closed. On time. Never underestimate the desire of a small town to keep their only vet clinic.

We have switched everything to our name, have keys, and have started the physical inventory. Doors open next Monday, three days a week. I already have a surgery scheduled for next Wednesday. Woot!

Tomorrow I will freak out. Today I am too overwhelmed to think about it…

OK, so this is exciting and puts you in 1/2 ownership? Or sole proprietor? Also, does this allow you to dump dead weight doctor and work better with your staff?

Or is this fresh start on new place?

I am now mentally referring to her as Dark Overlord of the Vet Clinic.

…But that’s just me.

So do we now need to refer to Alexis as She Who Must Not Be Named?

Congrats!!!

Half ownership of this place. Still ft employee of other place. I like where I work, it’s the hours that are killing me.

Dead weight is at the place I work, not the place I bought. Assuming you are talking about the same Dr I am.
Still need to open a supplier account, get the mail dropped at the post office instead of the clinic, and get the terminal distributor license set up. And that’s a start. So many other little things but those can wait until next week. :joy:

Congrats! All of the best!

Ookwife did not get a fine, and Ook did not go to town to get it squashed (wife ID and her ID on the fine was not the same) and Ook did not lock his keys in the car and Ook did not have to break a window to get the car open…

Congrats! Please don’t be like one of my wife’s clinic’s new owners. $Wife had to explain why running the monthly reports are important so they know fi they’re making money or not.

They only check monthly? If this vet doesn’t work out I want to be an accountant, so I’m guessing I will run them more frequently than that…

There’s three owners, a practice manager, and some other boss-type people including $Wife. I think some of the owners are more involved with the daily stats than others. One, apparently, stays out of the financials as much as possible. It was surprising, as she’s the most ā€˜computer friendly’ of the three, doing a good job running social media, website, etc. for the clinic, I think. Just not a financial person.

I feel like medicine, especially veterinary medicine, is a field where a lot of people in it are perhaps not fiscally literate.

In other news:

I wish I could say I didn’t have to fix my mother-in-law’s iPad, which is supposedly hacked, but probably just slow because it’s never reset. Especially since the supposed haxxoring occurred when she was perusing media of an adult nature.

I wish I could say I’m not going to be learning about my m-i-l’s preferences in that regard.

Hahahahahahaha!!! :joy::joy:

Seriously, the iPad is home in a plastic bag waiting for me to get around to it. The whole ā€œin a plastic bagā€ part for some reason is making it worse for some reason i can’t quite describe.

It’s like when $Wife used a specimen jar to decorate a cake for work. Despite it being clean, new, and (presumably) the most sterile thing around, I’d still feel icky eating that cake. Thankfully it was for their techs, and they’re far too used to such things to be grossed out.

I’ve eaten lunch while palpating cows, and gone out for ice cream right after pulling a 3 day dead calf out of a cows uterus…Had to pull it in pieces. So no, not much bothers us.

I also routinely eat with tongue depressors and use dog bowls if i forget one.
