Sounds fun. I’m kind of sad I don’t have any cooking this year. I’d make pierogies* or guacamole if $Wife asked.
*From a box, admittedly, I’m not a great cook.

I’m getting the day after New year’s off as my holiday. Which will give me like five days in a row off. Considering I worked all the days either side of both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I think I deserve it…

Still got a cold, but there’s snow on the ground this morning that will make for some nice pictures of my Christmas decorations before I take them down.
Mmm yum. Maybe I can post pix of lil’ Ook’s food and cookings? 
By the by, we have learnt our kids how to do simple foodstuffs, and sometimes they make food. Not a big, complicated meal, but simple things, and it is edible and tastes good (unlike Effie Munyon’s cooking)
Time is coming when I have to teach OokSon how to do a proper braai (BBQ)
DD15 got all As and Bs in her first semester of high school. This makes me happy in so many ways…

She did not do well in 8th grade for a myriad of reasons, involving both content and instructors, so we were nervous it would be more of the same.

She is in the STEM Academy, which involves daily travel, class schedules more like college, and extra classes the traditional HS doesn’t take. And because she loses a class period for travel, she is taking an extra course online, giving her 9 classes where most kids take 7.
And most importantly, 3. She is bipolar depressive, and the fact that she has adjusted so well tells us her medication is helping her stabilize. I am so glad we caught this early in her life. Even though it makes me wonder what I could have done to prevent it (I know, I know), I’m thankful we were able to get her help at this age.

Just checked and I’m getting close to 400,000 words in my stories: about 308K in the main story and 89K in the collection of shorter stories set in that same world.

Had a lot of rain over the weekend, and we managed to store some of the rainwater for later use (bottled water).
More rain. Every little bit helps.
