What Made You Happy Today?

Thanks… we actually might. DW is supposed to check if she could get the next scheduled Friday off.

We’d probably have to rent a hotel room so we wouldn’t have to try and drive back afterwards, but it might be fun.

Making contact with Wayne Gretzky Winery today about a possible collaboration between my DrinkPucks whisky rocks and their new whisky.

Sounds about right, neh?

Fingers crossed.

Nobody in the theater of war in my line of work is listening to me at all. (Well, except for my subordinates who have no choice.)

But the team who is designing the training for it want an open VTC to pick my brain and another group whose job it is to find and promote new analytics wants to talk to me about promoting a tutorial I wrote yesterday (!).

And in a few weeks, an executive briefing team from an agency is coming to explain to the higher ups that I have been right all along.

I was on my way to work this morning and got invited into a quick TV promo spot for my favourite restaurant as I was walking by. I can’t watch the video on my phone for some reason, nor at work.

Cocktails at 9am? DON’T MIND IF I DO!

It should be here, labelled CTV Morning Live: Petit Bill’s Bistro 1

Good luck!

I watched all four, didn’t see you.

EDIT: Wait! Was that you in the background? There’s a guy there that ducked out when the camera panned up and he was in frame…

I got my taxes done early this year. I still have a couple days left.

I own a rental, and I don’t charge enough to make enough money on it to pay the taxes on the “extra income”. So it’s a scramble to find hardware store receipts and whatnot to make the liability go away.

I had mine 90% done in mid-February, finally filed in mid-March and got my state refund last week. Earliest I’ve finished my taxes in years. But they were also simpler than they’d been in 5+ years.

Gives a new meaning to his famous quote…

You miss 100% of the “shots” you don’t take.

Yeah. mine last year were… interesting. First time filing married, 3 jobs for me alone, and a large severance. It was an interesting year.

This year was easy by comparison!

No, I was the guy on the patio in the red checked jacket.
I finally got it to work on one machine. It wasn’t even in those. I had to open the actual full episode in a different link and scroll through it almost to the end. It would have been at 9:11 on the show clock.

I think I am getting the hang of QuickBooks. The deposit side anyway. Tomorrow I will work on vendors and bills… :scream:

Yeah, I think $Wife might have to do some of that in the future, as they’re trying to work with her so she’s not running the front desk hands-on quite as much.

Then again, she apparently also had to explain to one of her bosses why they run an end-of-month report. “You know, this is one of the things you should probably give to your accountant.”

After entering in $30k of income, and $16k of expenses, my register in QuickBooks is off by a grand total of 18¢.

Sadly, it’s driving me nuts, too.

I know the feeling.

An error amount divisible by 9 usually is a transposition error. Such as entering $1.35 when you meant to enter $1.53 or something similar.

I used to work in accounting.

Shouldn’t that be +9?

Yeah, I have to do the reconciliation yet, so I may find it there. But it was 11:45pm and I need at least a couple hours of sleep each night… :grinning:
