Kicked out the old Polycom VC and installed a Yealink VC in its place.
Of course there were a hiccup or two, but all’s sorted out now.
The Polycom VC got haxx0red and it was on the old side, so I prudently recommend we get something newer, as I’m not sure how long the Polycom VC will be good for.
got my tickets to take the kids to see Neil deGrasse Tyson speak on March 18th. For those of you nearish Central Ohio he will be here and general sale starts today.
I’ve found the same reaction from almost everyone today. First, shock. Then they say something like, “You look good either way. You just look good in any haircut, I guess. Damn your eyes.”
The NZ public health service, and (oddly) psoriasis.
I got my melanoma diagnosis earlier this year. My doctor referred the results to specialists immediately.
1 week later I got a call from the specialist at one of our hospitals, with an appointment to go and see her later that week. During that appointment she told me I’d need to have further surgery to remove extra skin and some lymph nodes as a precaution.
The next week (this week) I got a call from the hospital scheduling my surgery for Monday.
So from diagnosis to surgery will be about 3 weeks. All in the public health system.
I’m not saying that our health system is perfect - far from it. But this surgery and follow up treatment has been known to bankrupt people in the US and I’m very glad I don’t have that additional stress right now.
As for being thankful for psoriasis, the reason I went to the doctor was because a mole I had been keeping an eye on suddenly started itching. That was the mole that was removed and turned out to be melanoma.
However, the itching hasn’t stopped after the mole was removed.
I was diagnosed with psoriasis about 6 months ago, and I think the itching was actually a patch of that.
If that’s the case, then having psoriasis has literally saved my life.
Yeah. I’m finding it a bit of a mixed blessing.
On the one hand, just what you said.
On the other hand, they’ve been telling me the melanoma has been fully excised, but they wouldn’t move this quickly unless there is a reason to do so. It brings it home just how serious it could be - which is a bit scary. I guess you would understand how that feels.
