Two thirds of the way through my lifetime concealed carry permit process, along with my wife.
No more freaking out about how to transport a pistol, or three or four, to a range in my car. Do I put ammo here, and the pistol there, or both under lock and key, or in pieces or whatever.
Going to try to take a coupleās class this summer too. Now if I can only get her away from the .380 autos. Her concept is to shot them with the gun and then use her judo to take them down, or her feet to run.
Iām slightly less mystified by Regexs after the last couple days. (By the way, found a good site to experiement with them if you prefer to learn by doing. Theyāre definitely coming in handy for my latest āautomate myself out of a jobā attempt, which thanks to learning enough regex-fu to be dangerous, I re-wrote a bunch of brittle scripts that would break with formatting changes and such to be much more flexible.

Got a call from ācomputer supportā about a problem on my computer and instantly recognized it as a scam, thanks in part to some of the things Iāve read here.

If theyāre calling you, itās almost certainly a scam.
I got one yesterday on my cell phone which was doubly disturbing. They hung up when i said I didnāt own a computer. I may, admittedly, have taken the call on a SmartPhone, been sitting in front of my work Laptop, had a tablet at hand, and was thinking about building a Hackintosh to supplement the two Macs at home.
But they donāt need to know that.

My former employer is taking a settlement where they only have to pay $1.2 billion.
Itās not final yet, and it definitely isnāt enough, but it makes me feel good.
I think I might finally be able to go to sleep now.

It took significantly less time to reinstall Windows 10 and get most of my programs reinstalled and running than it did last time.

SOLUTION: Get a spray bottle with 10% cleaning vinegar and spray it directly into the disk drive slot. This may take 30 minutes and repeated sprayings. No, keep going. Eventually the computer will shut down completely and then you can go out and get one that works properly.
