Good luck with the new diet, Lee!

In all seriousness, I find that adding a very small amount of vanilla flavor actually brings out the other flavors better.

@Lee_Ars recentarticle on Soylent certainly caught my attention. It sounds like something to be aware of, but not necessarily to be alarmed at.

I wouldn’t be worrying about it. The group sounds like they can’t be bothered to look at what the numbers actually mean.

If I was Hershey I would stop selling my products in CA. See how long they can live without it.

It’s not California. These idiots know no borders.

That’s what is sounds like to me too. Soylent sounds like they’ve done their homework, and yes, if you eat nothing but Soylent, and eat a lot more than anyone should, you may have a problem. If you’re trying to have children.

As You Sow also says it found cadmium levels at least four times higher than the safe harbor for reproductive health levels.

There are 38 million people in CA already. We don’t need to make more.

I seem to be getting a lot of Soylent news lately. Here’s another article that someone sent me today. It basically says that while Soylent isn’t bad, the author prefers real food.

I read your new article on coffee soylent.

I don’t drink coffee very often, but I can see where this would be good for those who normally skip breakfast, but have to have their coffee…

Tempting but a little pricey.
Oh, and it looks like @Lee_Ars’s article generated enough traffic to crash the Soylent site. Ha!

I enjoyed the pictures in the article.

I’ve been subscribing to Soylent pretty much from the beginning. I’m thinking about canceling because the last two versions have been kind of… slimy. :frowning: They taste bad, too. The earlier versions had a pretty neutral flavour, but versions 1.6 & 1.7 have an unpleasant taste that lingers.

Well, that sucks! Was it the powder mix or the ready to consume sludge? Did you give them feedback?

It’s the powder. I gave them feedback on 1.6, but I’m trying 1.7 for the first time today.

So Nabiki is super awesome and let me try a box of 1.6, and i had it for dinner last night and for breakfast today.
The flavor and texture remind me of pancake mix, which i would never normally drink. My stomach did not appreciate the first dose but this mornings it seems fine with it. I will update later.

Well, yeah!

So after about 2 weeks , Im eating(drinking?) soylent for every meal. Aside from the flavor , its absolutely great. I feel way better than i used to when eating my normal college/bachelor foods. I definitely think soylent is a good idea. Just really really needs to be better tasting.

Another bad experience:

Apparently Soylent has been banned in Canada.
