Random Musings (and associated non sequiturs) v. 3.0

O. M. G.
I feel like such a retard.
I know I just earned a huge demerit against my nerd points.

(Empire Strikes Back)

I am not used to seeing it abbreviated, I guess.

Thanks anyway, @Rizak :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, it is. They use it on the daily in class. But when the 14yr-old girl asks the “old, not cool” definitely not computer savvy mother to help translate a YouTube tutorial by a guy who speaks English as a second language on a version that is one or two iterations old, much swearing ensues. Thank goodness we got through it.

I wish I knew why half the people who follow me on Twitter chose to follow me.

The way their stock is going and watching the leadership flight it might not be a question soon.

In addition to their monitization issues closing down a bunch of conservative twitter accounts because of demonstrably double standards didn’t help.

Most of my followers purport to be girls according to their avatars and names, but yoy never know. Ignoring them for now.

Morbid curiosity?

Waiting until the official start of the potluck to eat is hard when you’ve had a crockpot full of bison chili simmering in the room all morning…

Office potluck is about the only thing I miss from old-job. We usually had venison chili from someone who hunted regularly. I usually contributed pierogies and there were some fun times frying turkeys out back.

If someone came up with a word like “armpit”, why didn’t they match it with “legpit”?

Ive had enough child noise for the year. I have beat a strategic retreat upstairs, but my ears are still aching from the noise coming from downstairs.

Think it is that.

Now I know rhe meaning of white pain.

It was raining when I came back from the shops to the office.

Halfway to my office down a tiled corridor, my one foot slips and I fell on my back. Did not bump the back of my skull.

It was. So. Painful. I could not breathe initially, but at length I forced myself to.

A little while later I felt better, had some lunch. Eventually discovered that my lower back hurt a lot, and felt a swelling just above my buttcheeks.

Made the decision to go to a doctor. Verdict - spine is OK. Gave me a jab of inflammatory meds, some painkillers and sent me off.

Could’ve been worse… broken pelvis etc.

I’m so glad to hear that you’re okay! Do you get workman’s comp there? Here, if you get injured while on the job, the employer’s insurance has to cover it.

Will hear from HR

Anyone use a SodaStream or similar product here?

Some time ago, yes.

They’re good, if you can get the flavours you like.

I have one of these. I drink carbonated beverages very rarely, so it works for me. I order Torani’s syrups in various flavours and make my own Italian sodas when I’m in the mood for one.

Why is it that everyone wants to save the dogs, but when we ask them to give more than prayers and shares, suddenly there’s nothing more they can do? Argh. We need a foster for a dog who needs medical help. We have the money, we have a rescue, and we have a vet (me!) who is ready to do all the medical stuffs. But we don’t have a house for the dog to stay in. Smh…
