I almost always prioritize “easy to access” for parking spaces over proximity. I’d rather have a nice space where I wont’ swing my doors into the neighboring car and they won’t hit me and walk a bit.

I try to strike a balance between a parking spot that isn’t a half mile from the door and one where some bonehead won’t ding my car. The ones next to the cart corrals can be good.
If I’m just running in to pickup a couple things, I’ll take a closer spot if I see one. But I’m not one of those people who will see someone about to unload a cart into a vehicle with a good spot, and sit there & wait for them to unload & move, blocking the lane for six minutes. I’ve seen that too many times. Once, I walked into the store, made a purchase, was walking back out, and saw the spot hawker just getting out of their car.
I am not tolerant of bad parking lot etiquette.
The unobservant jackasses who drive the wrong way down directional parking rows are another pet peeve. “You’re going the wrong fscking way. This is pretty basic, you should have mastered it before you were even old enough to drive.” (Middle and high schools around here are relatively large, so traffic flow in main and secondary hallways tends to flow like streets - stay to the right, go with the flow, left hand turns across rush hour traffic (between periods) is a bitch.)
I think I should probably put some context around my comment.
I was on the train yesterday when an obviously pregnant woman got on. I was sitting about 6 rows back from the door, but I was the one who gave up my seat to her. She walked past 4 women who looked directly at her and then went back to what they were doing (she walked past a few men as well, but they were either oblivious or pretending to be oblivious).
Later on that day I saw a series of adverts (not from NZ) asking people to be considerate and give up their seats for pregnant women. The adverts consisted of a photo and some text, the photo being a very pregnant woman standing next to someone sitting down.
Every single photo showed a guy sitting down, not a woman.
This is on top of an incident a couple of months ago. There is a disabled woman who occasionally catches the same train as me on the way home. She likes a particular disabled seat as it makes it easier for her to get off at the other end. There was an older woman sitting in this seat one day when the disabled woman got on the train and asked her to move. The older woman didn’t even look at the disabled woman, just stared at the 3 closest guys. When none of us moved she angrily stood up saying “Well, I guess if nobody else is going to stand up I’ll have to.” Yeah - Nobody else stood up because she was specifically asked to.
All this got me thinking and wanting a more sane viewpoint - so I posted here (possibly a little provocatively, but people here can handle that 
)
I very rarely use public transport, but when I was in Japan, I gave up my seat a few times, usually to elderly people.
One of my most favorite games is catching someone following me to take my space.
I’ll purposefully walk down the next aisle, or two, then cross between the rows when I’m halfway down.
I’ve also been known to get in, close the doors, and sit… until the lurker gets tired of waiting and leaves.

I’ve done both of those, too. The latter is extra satisfying when I’ve left a store to wait for the wife in the car. Or when I have my tablet, so I get in the back seat, so I can stretch out and watch my show… that confuses them.

I like to do that too. Usually they leave, but one time I actually had someone come up and knock on my window asking me if I was going to be leaving.
I just said “yep” and went back to what I was doing (he didn’t ask when I was going to be leaving).

He wants people to avoid cheese… but I don’t think he understands a convenience meal. Caramelizing onions, peeling and mincing garlic, and cutting up vegetables is NOT CONVENIENT. If you want to be taken seriously you have to under stand what words mean. I’m already a lazy asshole eating a pizza, think I’m going to do all that crap? Cheese pizza has three ingredients, dough, cheese, and sauce. Replacing one of those with three or more ingredients does not make it more convenient.
