Yes, but not the point.
Hell, if I’m up for caramelizing onions then I’m up for damn near any cooking. Not that it’s hard, but I’ve already gotten a knife out, a cutting board, a pan, and the olive oil. Shit, all kinds of stuff I can do from there.

I fall on the too much work side, too, but [insert veggie here] on a pizza isn’t all that appealing to me.
Oh, it definitely would not be a quick meal by any means… Sometimes I think these guys overestimate the ability of people to do anything quickly, let alone cook. Sure, you could take an afternoon to mince and steam and package all your meal parts for the week, but if I had that much extra time on my hands we wouldn’t have had cold Papa John’s for breakfast this morning. And for dinner. And probably tomorrow’s breakfast too.
My major issue was the convenient part. The guy isn’t even a cook, he’s a scientist suggesting people stop eating cheese.
Now, do I chop an onion and half a dozen other veggies for dinner sometimes, sure, and I can do it quickly, but it’s not convenient. It’s nice, but it’s not simple. It’s easy to do, but if I’m not in the damn mood and I just want a pizza shell with some stupid cheese and some sauce on it I’m not doing all that other stuff, even if normally it’s not a big deal, because today I’m tired.
Papa Johns hits all the food groups at once. Follow it up with leftover chocolate cake.
AMEN!!
Papa Johns isn’t my favorite, but better than no pizza. Heck the frozen pizzas Walmart sells for $1.25 were frequently my dinner when I was single. That’s the only reason I bought a toaster oven right there… walked down the small appliance aisle with a frozen pizza box and test fit it in the demo units.
Also good for making cinnamon rolls on the weekend!

(I love these… but they’re not really spiral, more like pucks)
I always have a knife out.
Today must be Throwback Wednesday or something. I was reminded (above) of my cinnamon roll experiment from a few years ago.
01 - cinnamon buns and bacon (raw form)
02 - beautiful bacon laying naked
03 - bacon in a microwave save dish
05 - bacon, fresh from the microwave
06 - bacon, semi-cooked (2 minutes)
07 - cinnamon buns, awaiting the bacon
08 - cinnamon buns, early in bacon mating
09 - cinnamon buns, post bacon mating
10 - greasing pan with bacon fat
11 - baconbuns in a pan, awaiting the heat
12 - baconbuns in a pan, after the heat
14 - baconbuns on a plate, with icing
Lesson learned: cook the bacon a lot more first and use twice as much.
Other, more important lesson learned: I’m a frigging genius.
Do it with CANDY BACON!!!
I just made your recipe, double batch. Annual bake sale at my church tomorrow, so I made two four packs to donate. The extra two will be breakfast for me and the wife in the morning. Based on your post-analysis, I cooked the bacon longer (4 slices at a time for 3 minutes) and put a slice and a half in each roll.
I had planned to start cooking way earlier, but it was a busy day, so it is now almost 1am. I couldn’t resist and sampled one - MmmMmm, good!
Like @Rizak, I also had a significant cinnamon loss when the rolls were unrolled, like disturbingly much. Next time, I think I’ll lay down wax paper on my work surface first.
I am actually enjoying working triple time. The old place, covering the new place the old place just bought, and then my own place. I mean, I don’t sleep, but it’s forcing everyone else to pick up some slack, so that’s good.
When you’ve got so much security and secrecy around a process that it can collapse with a tiny mistake, it’s time to rethink the process. This time, it cost two people the privilege of being associated the the Academy Awards ever again, though so far, they haven’t lost their jobs.
What would a limited war between Malaysia and the Norks look like?
edit: assuming they don’t just jump to using really crappy nukes on each other. Upside, hey, no more global warming? Are we prepared for a nuclear winter?
Hmm, let me Google that…
I dunno, but I might like to watch.
Is that like motorboating?
Badumdum
Though now that I’ve used it online I have to wonder if it’s a racial slur or a national slur…
I don’t want to slur anyone’s ancerstory, but I’m ok slurring the country. Kind of like Commies is OK in my book. Or Pinko.
Anyway.
Amazon tried to sell me Zip drives today. What year is it?
1997, Why do you ask?
Wow, whoda thunk.
Your link didn’t work, but if I search Amazon for “Zip Drive” it showed me flash drives until about the 8th result, which was a Zip 250 from an unknown reseller. Possibly used.
I didn’t realize they were still somewhat popular among retro-computing aficionados, as they’re often the best way to move data around on pre-USB systems.
What got me when I searched is that they have a category for them. They have at least 6 different ones… including the ever popular parallel port version.
And they don’t work in anything past Windows 98 apparently. Looks like a lot of people are retrieving old files with them.
FYI:
