and they told me if they treated it it would get better in a week, and if they didn’t I’d get better in 7 days.[/quote]
The lesson I’m getting here is that the doctor doesn’t know there are 7 days in a week.
Hmmm… I would strongly recommend the use of Metro for 21 days. Especially since a) they were getting better, and b) you also had a case of it. Giardia is very contagious to humans and very difficult to see on certain fecal preps. The Elisa is helpful but nothing is 100%. Metro is also helpful for IBD and I have put cats on it for life with no ill effects. Yes, there can be side effects, but if you are educated about them and agree that the risks (minimal) are worth it, then it can be done…
You’re awesome.
Well, something appears to be working. No accidents since Monday night it looks like, and the poop seems better. Man, I just can’t wait until my life stops revolving around cat poop.
I will say that giving cats their liquid medicine is taking my life in my hands. I have to give them like 1.5 and 2.5 somethings in a syringe. And on the smaller cat, who also happens to be sicker I get about 90% of it in her. On the larger cat, I might get half, and she spits a bunch of it out, while trying to disembowel my daughter and put my eyes out. I think I might try getting them to hit the catnip first tonight, I only have to do this two more times. The vet told me most cats hate it, and they weren’t kidding.
Thank you, replacement sliding glass door handle makers, for making it almost impossible to find the right sized handle. I should not have to carve out small pieces of my door in order to make it fit. And this was AFTER I measured the holes (on center, for accuracy), brought the handle to the hardware store to verify, and had the sales staff double-check me. I made it work, since every other handle was manufactured in the same way and would have caused me the same grief. And let’s not even get into the absurdity of making the holes of the various sizes a whopping 1/16" different. Really??
It would only take this and that much time before hardware makers learned from software makers.
I swear, it can be easier to replace a 100 year old part than a 5-15 year old one on a house. My sliding door is a cheap piece of crap that isn’t working right, but I’m not ready to start fighting that mess at this point.
BTW, cats are better, but they seem to react to almost any treatment the same. They start playing more, and pooping in the box more, but as soon as the treatment ends they slide back into it. Just did the last treatment of the chalky stuff they hate last night. I hope this is it this time.
I’'d hate to get rid of them because of this. They’d likely become outdoor cats at my daughter’s place, with a barn to stay in. But I can’t sacrifice my home’s cleanliness to my cat’s ass.
The parts discussion is why I love availability of 3D printers now. I can scan a broken part in, fix it in SketchUp (or whatever) and have it printed. If I wanted to get crazy, I could even do a mold with that part and recast it in metal.
Is it actually that easy for the average user yet? Or are we still at the level of a C&C machine?
Damn it, I’ve done something really odd and I haven’t messed around with 2007 enough to know how to fix it.
I’m not autocalculating my formulas anymore, I have to save the document or hit f2 to get a cell to calculate. This is teribad.
{edit}hah, easier in this version than it used to be, why the hell did someone toggle that on my template. Never mind!
SketchUp isn’t horrible IMO but I actually have a few years of C&C and CAD/Design in me so I might be a bit biased. Hopefully by this time next year, the Shop will be in good enough shape so that I can buy and setup a 3D printer and really play.
Depending on what the treatment is that ends and the diarrhea comes back, you may need to extend the treatment. Some can be done for an infinite amount of time. The white chalky stuff, which sounds like Panacur, cannot. But the metro can. And don’t forget your probiotic!! It really can make a huge difference in some animals. However, since they both have problems, I’d be more suspect of stress diarrhea or parasites, both of which can affect everyone. Just stick with it! Remember, even if you got new cats from the shelter, there is a VERY good chance you’d have the same exact problem…
iOS8 just might be enough to pull me away from Android
I miss when we didn’t negotiate with terrorists.
Especially when we didn’t illegally do a prisoner swap for someone who at the very least abandoned hist post.
But don’t you see? He wears a uniform, therefore he is a hero and must be revered! No exceptions!
No, his specialness stems from being a dissenter in uniform. People like the current administration just love a soldier who hates his fellow soldiers. Maybe he’ll go throw his medals in the reflecting pool and they can all celebrate how brave he is.
We can break a law specifically designed to stop this sort of thing, but we can’t get an innocent marine our of a hellhole in Mexico?
The blatent disregard for the rule of law will have consequences. I used to complain about politics because people were making different decisions to get to the same place I wanted to go. Now, I don’t know where the hell we are going, I just want the ride to stop.
In an ideal world, he would go through the investigation and subsequent court-martial, throw himself on the mercy of the court, get a very nominal sentence and a discharge. I don’t think much justice is really going to be served by throwing him in prison, but the people who risked (and in some cases lost) their lives to look for him deserve some kind of accounting.
[And yes, this is assuming guilt, but I’m pretty comfortable with that, and I would be very surprised if he contests any charges. I have no “inside” information, but the Army has known what happened for years, and orders or no orders, word gets around.]
I’m glad we recovered him. Whatever dubious value he may have had as a soldier, he is ours. We always bring back our own–not just the good ones or the popular ones. I suspect he is a bit wiser now than when he left.
If we were going to do this swap, we might have done it a few years ago when the Taliban first suggested it. It’s hard not to be cynical about the timing.
In an ideal world the President follows the law and doesn’t do this in the Rose Garden. But, in the real world there are things like the VA and Hillary’s brain damage that need to be not thought of.
And with Fast and Furious, the IRS, the VA, Benghazi, the vacations, golf, recovery summer part V (The Printering), Obamacare flopping, inflation, food costs, and end runs by bureaucratic organs to implement “regulations” to take teh place of laws the president couldn’t get passed, the bar for distraction just keeps getting higher.
I don’t have an issue with getting him back, we should do that, I question prisoner exchanges with a terrorist organization. And I also question lauding him as a hero. Obama demonstrates, in my mind, his unfamiliarity with how Americans think, he wasn’t raised in the country and I think sometimes it shows. He fundamentally just doesn’t get it sometimes. And he’s surrounded himself with sycophants who won’t tell him he’s wrong.
I feel like I might look like a creep by making positive comments when friends post photos to Facebook of their daughters dressed up for prom.
Hi @RoadRunner!
I spaced on this site for a while, but got a reminder the other day when Google Cards showed me Nabiki’s “Quit quit quit quit” thread.
Is this connected to Google now? I noticed my avatar changed.
