Resident Evil:Wuhan

Wanna get two Resident Evil doggos to scare away ne’er-do-wells…

My hobby is paying for itself. I sold 4 dozen eggs and six hens this week.

Maybe look at that as a permanent job?

You’ll probably need a larger residence and all that.

New Ozzy album. Pretty much just gonna listen to it on repeat all day.

Just got a letter from the hospital.
There are no signs of any residual cancer from the wide area excision.
The other mole they took off at the same time was a benign nevus.

Also the infection in my shoulder has finally started to go away with the 3rd different antibiotic I’ve been on.

I still have a final scan on my lymph nodes this Friday, but nobody (including me) is expecting that to show anything and it’s purely precautionary.

Done with Army schools, home with my family again for the foreseeable future, minus one field trip in late April.

That is really good news! I can only imagine how relieved you must feel right now. :tada:

Yeah, I actually felt lighter after reading that.
Though with all the stress eating I’ve done recently that’s not saying much

Don’t know if this belongs in “What made you happy” or “What terrified the living cr@p out of you” but my pre-surgery checks are all good, so I’m cleared for surgery Friday.

Full open heart, sternum splitting, heart-lung-machine myectomy and valve repair.

Sheesh.

But at least I know it wasn’t me! This is a genetic disorder, passed on from someone. (I haven’t had my Mom tested, and my Dad has passed, so…)
The disease is HCM. Interested?

Don’t forget to let us all know how it goes. 0_0

Sending best thoughts your way!

Don’t forget to wave your hat.

Yep, combination of “glad it’s going to get fixed” and “oh crap this is serious”. I hope it goes really well and as @Nabiki said, let us know.

On the bus on the way home, somebody insisted on playing some new crap music on his phone at a fairly high volume. Sitting one seat in front of me.

I reached into my bag, pulled my portable Bluetooth speaker out and paired it to my phone. The woman in the seat next to me giggled a bit as I selected The Ride of the Valkyries to play at a significantly higher volume.

Upvoted because of all of the best vibes going your way.

Your operation will be a success and you will be up and running soonest.

Awesome. Was the person in front of you annoyed?

I must be a bad windows sysadmin because I got MMC and MSC working together to administrate a remote machine without havening to remote desktop to it. For the first time ever. Did not even tried it out two/three years ago.

Said remote machine is a HyperV 2019 install, so no remote desktop to a windows desktop, you have to use MMC+MSC and powershell etc to manage a HyperV machine which is basically just a plain CLI interface.

Rocky start, but all is good so far. Need to do a speedtest on the RAID before pushing it to production.

There is always a first time for something.

edited to add :

RAID was a RAID5. One HDD borked. Forced a rebuild. Another HDD borked during the rebuild.

RAID is futtup. At least I lost nothing. So for the time being the speed test is being put on hold.

My son’s jet lag is finally completely gone. No more toddler waking up between 1am and 4am. It was an interesting learning experience though. My kid needs to gather up some sleep first (which means sleeping for almost 16 hours per day) before we slowly wean his daytime sleep to where it’s back to his normal schedule.

Today is password change day. I managed to find a pattern that worked on all 14 of them.
First time in years.
