It’s Friday.
And Rizak has posted a truckload of chapters from his story. Yay!
The BOFH would be proud.
Yeah, I’m not familiar with the world it is based in, but it is an interesting story so far. I haven’t read it all yet, just past where they discover things in crates.
Cheesecake. Cheesecake makes me happy, and I brought home an entire Coscto cheesecake yesterday. Each piece has been individually wrapped and tucked into the freezer except for a few that I will eat this week. I have weeks of happiness ahead.
I’ll put your name in for the inevitable Golden Girls reboot in a decade or two.
Decided to say f it and spend the day doing only what I wanted to do. So I slept in a little, had nachos for breakfast, played video games for a bit, then went on an 8mi run, playing Pokemon the entire time. Then came home and had a lovely soak in a hot bath, then ice cream cake and a margarita for dinner. Now I’m gonna read and design my kitchen for the new house. Minimal brain usage.
I get my hair colour through an online site that autoships it every 10 weeks. The last batch came mid-March, and I’ve let it sit because who’s going to see my hair other than Mr. TM, and he thinks I look great whether or not I colour it. The grey roots have been bugging me for a while though, so yesterday I coloured my hair. I was surprised at how great I felt once it was done, how happy it made me.
Background for this - I really haven’t been feeling creative recently. My writing/photo editing space has turned into my work from home space and after all day on the computer for work all I want to do when I’m done is get away from it and veg for a while. I know I’m one of the lucky ones; I still have a job and am still getting paid, but this lack of creativity has been really weighing on me. On to what made me happy yesterday…
A co-worker - who definitely doesn’t fall into the cow-orker category - and I have been doing a lot of tag team data-related troubleshooting in our new commission system. Early on I joked that we were so good at investigating we should open a PI firm. Since then she always puts “Fraser & Liscoumb PI” as the subject for our investigation meetings. I realised yesterday that we’re not PIs, we’re DIs - Data Investigators. And that sparked something in me and I spent an hour or so playing in Photoshop and created this:
I had a ball playing, and it felt so damn good to be doing something creative! I sent it to my co-worker and she absolutely loved it.
First time back on site since, We are still dating except for this COVID crap.
There’s going to be a live action remake of Studio Ghibli’s “Whispers of the Heart”
Filming has been delayed, but it’s coming.
Still got a job and is able to support my famiky plus help one or two people out with extra food left over which’ll go to waste.
Thinking of upping my donation to meals on wheels…
I hatched a batch of 19 chicks four days ago. Two were mutants that had to be culled, but that leaves me with 17 healthy chicks. I just sold all but 4 of them and I didn’t even have an ad out.
Good thing I have a big batch of eggs in the incubator ready to hatch in another week and a half.
I can’t remember whether you have said or not. Do you breed them as well or just buy in the eggs?
This batch are all from my own breeders. The 73 I have in the incubator are half from a friendly breeder who gave them to me and half of my own. I still plan to buy eggs now and then to keep them from getting inbred and to start new lines. Right now I have fancy colours. I want to breed a line of jumbos too.
Leaving work. Holy $#!+balls that was ridiculous
My spa is allowing us to start reserving appointments! Scheduled two massages. One before and one after the move. Can. Not. Wait.
Now, if they are allowed to open that’ll be great!
A few actual humans (not just spambots) on Soundcloud have played/liked/shared the track I spent all day yesterday working on.
Yesterday was the last full day of work on the old house. From here on out it’s little stuff here and there. Replacing some outlets, out the vent covers back on, that sort of thing.
Credit cards are all maxed, it’s kind of scary, never had that much on any of them before. But the house was a wreck and now it’s pretty awesome. It took 25k and three weeks to take it from 150k to 215k.
And I just counteroffered on the other house.
I would not cry if we close twice in June.
Watching a blue jay trying to figure out how to land on the very narrow ledge of the squirrel feeder to get at the suet blocks. Hoping it will show up again someday to give it another try.
