What Made You Happy Today?

I fixed an ongoing issue for a user today and he was very appreciative. Such a change from my last job.

Nothing. It’s cold and wet outside (whatever happened to our summer?), work is still craptacular, and I just want to curl up under a blanket and sleep for a week.

I genuinely and correctly used the word ā€œinconceivableā€ in a business communication

I’d laugh my ass off if the reply was ā€œYou keep using that word… I do not think it means what you think it means.ā€

That’s exactly what I’m hoping for - but I haven’t had any responses yet.

I’m going to see the Irish Rovers tonight. They probably won’t be as good as the last time I saw them in concert (Good grief, that was 30 years ago), but I’m glad I get to see them on their last tour.

There were only two of the original Irish Rovers members, but they still have their voices, and they put on a great, high energy show! It was fun, and I’m glad I went.

Siglet Secundus and I are both sick, which sucks, but he is amusing himself (loudly and boisterously) with Super Smash Brothers for the GameCube, and it’s pretty funny to watch.

For the past 25 years we’ve been together, my wife and I had a cat or two or three in the house except for the past four years. That’s changed now with the addition of a new kitten, Charlie, last night. He survived the night without being eaten by our Siberian Husky, June, and hasn’t yet discovered my daughter’s rabbit, Brownie.

Awww! The cuteness! I want a kitten, but I already have five cats, so no kitten any time soon. Six cats is the limit of what my house can support, and my roommate has a cat, so we’re maxed out.

The introduction period has gone remarkably well so far, and certainly better than I had anticipated. However, I think it will be while until I trust them alone together. I wouldn’t want to explain the ā€œoopsā€ moment to my two children.

It’s been about 17 years since we’ve had an actual kitten, and I had forgotten how playful they can be. Watching him attack my daughter’s Barbie doll this early this morning was hilarious. He must think he’s quite the great 9 week old hunter.

Aaaww! It’s like camouflage!

Yours, I presume? Hot d@mn, Sig made 7!

Being wrong about Mother Nature not giving my part of the US some attention. Woke up this morning to about 2 inches of snow on the ground, perfect for building my first snowman in the new place.

Home from Cleveland & another SQL Saturday event. If you ever touch SQL Server in any capacity, you have to get to one of these events.

One of these days, I’m gonna speak at one of these things. I have too many people asking why I’m not doing it yet.

I prefer to think of it as ā€œthe E7th seal has been broken.ā€ Many seem to think the end is nigh.

It’s weird to contemplate that when I first started posting on the first CoG board, I was three years away from enlisting. Hard to remember, but I used to do IT for a living…
