What Made You Happy Today?

Apostasy.

Knowing that there are people like this in the world.

I had a four-hour staff meeting on a Saturday.

…with my awesome buds in Team Rubicon Region X, trying to sort out the regional planning tasks and how we would go about solving them and a host of other issues to progress toward our corporate mission to be the best damned disaster response organization in the world.

Crowdfunding really can do good work.

These guys.

I’ve been instructed that I’m to seek out WiFi at each port on our cruise. $SisterInLaw can’t go a week without photos/updates of/about her boys.

This also means I get to download/sync podcasts to listen to & items to read.

The Whiteboard hit their Patreon goal, so they will be going to 5 times a week.

Man I need to catch up on them. When did Doc cut down from five days a week in the first place?

Quite a while ago. At least a few years ago.

The little piglet that was found in traffic in San Francisco (and chased through traffic by a Franciscan friar trying to keep her from getting killed) has been adopted and is happy at her new home.

Last nights’ dream was so vivid and exciting that I’m writing down everything I remember to turn it into a sci-fi romp in print :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually feel really optimistic about it, because I’ve already got so much material in my head about the characters and locations because I spent about a year there in dream-time.

When I get past chapter three, you’ll know I’m serious.

Apparently my son’s FIRST Robotic’s regional has a live video feed

Made me happy yesterday, but still happy today… DH’s heart cath yesterday was all clear with no blockages, AND he had an episode of the chest pain that sent us there while we were in the cath lab and the EKG was also clear. So while we still don’t know what’s causing it, it’s not the heart. So it’s either asthma, GERD, or anxiety. None of which are fixable, but also not quite as fatal as a heart attack. (Yes, I know asthma can be, but hesntried taking his inhaler during an episode with no changes, so we don’t think that’s it. I’m voting for anxiety.)

When I started having chest pains, it turned out to be pleurisy.

Raymond Taavel’s killer was sentenced today.

After 64 of 89 qualification matches, my son’s robotics team sits 15th out of 53 teams. Here’s their best match of the day that I captured off the recorded feed:

Match 65 resumes tomorrow…

It appears that Vache is going to be okay. He’s been really lethargic and hot for the last couple of days, so we took him to the vet today. The vet is pretty sure that it’s just kitty flu, so he got some fluids, and is home now.
