What Made You Happy Today?

I found out at today’s staff meeting, that apparently, my students like me.

The Not Always Right group of websites is running April Fool’s Day stories today, and they’re all centered around Star Wars.

I honestly can’t answer that question. We always send out the rest if we suspect FIP. It may also be FeLV or FIV. You may ask your vet if they have those tests, or a package deal for them through their reference lab. Good luck! Hope he keeps doing well!

My cow-orker sent me this, from the Amazon Web Services terms of service.

57.10 Acceptable Use; Safety-Critical Systems. Your use of the Lumberyard Materials must comply with the AWS Acceptable Use Policy.

The Lumberyard Materials are not intended for use with life-critical or safety-critical systems, such as use in operation of medical equipment, automated transportation systems, autonomous vehicles, aircraft or air
traffic control, nuclear facilities, manned spacecraft, or military use in connection with live combat. However, this restriction will not apply in the event of the occurrence (certified by the United States Centers
for Disease Control or successor body) of a widespread viral infection transmitted via bites or contact with bodily fluids that causes human corpses to reanimate and seek to consume living human flesh, blood,
brain or nerve tissue and is likely to result in the fall of organized civilization.

I needed a good laugh on a Monday morning.

The weekend and the high wind events are over.

My home was without power for 9 hrs, the office building almost 24.
The winds outside our house sounded dangerous when things WEREN’T being flung against the glass.

Large limbs torn from trees makes for fun cleanup. 50 MPH winds combined with 30 F temps makes cleanup even that much more fun.

Then, when I got to the office to bring up the network and doors 'n sh!t, the fire department is outside the front doors in full turnout gear and masks, although the masks were in hand, not on face.
Seems there was a sensor throwing false positives.

Then we found what we suspect is a fried port on the FW, so one subnet won’t come up.

Two longs days doing cleanup tasks in backyard, plus unexpected half a day fixing networking stuff… while the guys who know the setup and equipment are at our annual user conference.

< Deep breath > aaaaand < sigh > the rest of the week begins.

This is my old house, my sister in law was in the room when it happened.

The trampoline traveled about 20 feet before hitting the house. In another section of the neighborhood there is a trampoline that looks like it’s eating a privacy fence. And another one was tumbling down a corn field like tumbleweed.

That’s about 3 feet of pole sticking through the wall.

dayum! flying trampolines! UFO’s in disguise?

Naw, they’re just attracted to siding. I mean, look at that siding. The way it’s all coy and laying there up against the side of that building. It’s just asking for it. No wonder the trampoline wanted to hump it. Hell, I almost want to hump that building myself.

Hey! The trampoline through the wall is an “Act of God” and I have to pay the deductible.

The neighbor is apparently off the hook for the whole thing despite putting a 20 foot trampoline in a wind tunnel and not securing it.

I am pissed. So far I’m down 2k just this year helping out my in-laws with this place.

Finally after a month without an internet connection at home, we finally have wimax!!! To bad the packet loss rate is like 60%

I shaved my beard off yesterday, and my wife wrote a sweet post about it on Facebook about cancer and my beard and telling people to fuck off.

And thankfully, when I shaved my chin this morning for the first time in at least a couple years, I didn’t slice a chunk off. I’ve gone without facial hair on my chin around a year ago, but I usually only shave the goat off with my clippers and then just grow it back.

Apple has been running a commercial for the new hands-free version of Siri that features Cookie Monster and the song “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce. Someone posted a video on YouTube of them asking Siri what is zero divided by zero and part of the answer also features Cookie Monster.

zero divided by zero? LOL!!!

My boys ask her this all the time and it never fails to make them laugh. Also, it’s about the only question Siri is capable of answering…Our Siri is pretty dumb… We got the dropout.

I will never hear this song the same way again after watching X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Same goes for “Angel of the Morning” by Juice Newton after seeing Deadpool.

I made sourdough pancakes today wrapped around sweetened cream cheese, strawberry jam, and whipped cream on top. They were more like crepes than pancakes, and they were delicious.
